I've been working on this for a few hours and I'll try to import it into LockOn tomorrow. Click the pictures for a version with a higher resolution.

Modeling a new F-15 is what I'll be trying to do next, but I have to make sure everything is working with the export from 3dsMax8, so I started with something small and less time consuming. I'm glad you like it, though.

I think this will work but if you are going to do a new F-15 model (which will be freakin awesome) you might run into a problem with animation and the moving parts. This is based on what i read in the other thread. If that's the case then maybe you would have to team up with another person who has 3dmax7 to finish up on animation.

No, it is not the same tank. I modeled it completely from scratch. I just needed something to check out the export plugin.

It took me about 1 1/2 hours plus 1 hour gathering reference. I'll optimize it for use in LockOn today and if everything goes fine with the export it should be available within the next few days for download.

Tatti,

Great models

Have you tested them in Lock On? Maybe some screens... :music_whistling:

I agree with SuperKungFu... Tatti, rep is coming your way :joystick:

I hope to hop in new F-15C anytime soon :pilotfly:

Hey, I do not have a lot of free time on my hands right now, but I unwrapped the model for texturing this weekend anyway. I also checked it ingame and I can tell you it's working fine! Now everything that's left is the texturing part which I will hopefully complete in the next week.

Hi there,

Yesterday I unwrapped the fuel tank and today I textured it so basically it's almost ready for release. If you like you can check out the pictures below - click on them for a highres version. Only thing that's left now are the various LODs but that hopefully won't take too long anymore.

Conformal Fuel Tanks released

Hey,

thanks for the kind words - it's releasing time! I finished the LODs today and made the package LOMAN ready, but you can also install the mod manually if you don't use LOMAN. Just check out the readme.txt file for instructions.

Alright, let's quit the talking - here you go:

Please let me know if you find any bugs or things that would be improvable.

Enjoy!

Tatti, great stuff. The -ugliest- piece of F-15 accessories has been fixed.

Now ... how about the F-15 itself :D

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

F-15 is definiteley next, but I don't have a lot of time on my hands right now - so this might take a while.

By the way: You should still drop the tank, SuperKungFu! ;)

Congrats on your first successful model addon into Lock On. They work great and no huge fps drop. Very Nice

Looking forward to the F-15, we can understand it will take a while and a man's life should not be consumed by it. It just makes us feel a lot better that someone has taken on the project. Best of luck to you!
