IvanK Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Spent a lot of time chasing and fighting F5E's IRL , I don't recall ever seeing them smoke like they do in DCS in Dry power ! Edited July 22, 2016 by IvanK
probad Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 they do smoke but it does seem a bit excessively dark in dcs
FZG_Immel Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 they definetely smoke Ivank, but mostly when you see them from front of behind. not as much as in game. that being said I mostly saw them from low altitude. It might be different at higher alt. wumas0201 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yes~~The developers have to reduce the smoke of F5E~~
Ovenmit Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I dont think its the smoke so much as the darkness/density of it. All (especially older) fighters will leave smoke trails in certain instances... but to me the F5E in game looks like it has an engine fire lol Win 10pro x64 | i5 2500 | 16GB RAM | GTX1060 6GB | Logitech G940 | Tir5 + TC [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Thisdale Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I think the smoke is fine as it is. Fri13 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) Well, a pilot with real life experience flying against F-5E in close aerial combat questioning the simulator smoke, and what happens? Virtual Pilots say it looks good and so on is good... :D I have been wondering the whole F-5E smoke amount as well, because it really looks its engines are having problems or something in the fuel. But always put it to tap of never seeing one in reality. But now I can just say that I believe original poster questioning and hope developers will turn the smoke down. https://youtu.be/XYOjzZnmEuQ?t=975 From that point next 1-2 minutes there comes part where can be seen when some smoke appears and disappears. Nodak Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 They shouldn't be smoking in idle, renders some real world tactics inert.
wumas0201 Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 the smoke issue the smoke of F5E is the way too much~~it made F5E like a Boeing 747 fly in the sky, especially in MP. BST no any plan to fix it???
probad Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 i expect he means its as obvious as airliner contrails. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170846 this thread has the same complaint.
Focha Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 3 months, is it fixed? ASUS N552VX | i7-6700HQ @ 2.59GHz | 16 GB DDR3 | NVIDIA GF GTX 950M 4 Gb | 250 Gb SSD | 1 Tb HD SATA II Backup | TIR4 | Microsoft S. FF 2+X52 Throttle+Saitek Pedals | Win 10 64 bits

Ala13_ManOWar Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 May be our F-5E wants to be like her bigger cousin smoky Phantom :D. S! "I went into the British Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. I believe now that if you prepare for war, you get war." -- Major-General Frederick B. Maurice
Nodak Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Phantoms had a sneaky way to deal with eagles, one flight would attempt to engage, while another would set up an ambush by going smokeless, one engine in burner and the other close to idle, result no smoke. Many an Ego driver were felled by the distraction trick.
