Spent a lot of time chasing and fighting F5E's IRL , I don't recall ever seeing them smoke like they do in DCS in Dry power !

they definetely smoke Ivank, but mostly when you see them from front of behind.

not as much as in game.

that being said I mostly saw them from low altitude. It might be different at higher alt.

I dont think its the smoke so much as the darkness/density of it.

All (especially older) fighters will leave smoke trails in certain instances... but to me the F5E in game looks like it has an engine fire lol

You have a RL person saying that it's not like that.

Well, a pilot with real life experience flying against F-5E in close aerial combat questioning the simulator smoke, and what happens? Virtual Pilots say it looks good and so on is good... :D

I have been wondering the whole F-5E smoke amount as well, because it really looks its engines are having problems or something in the fuel. But always put it to tap of never seeing one in reality.

But now I can just say that I believe original poster questioning and hope developers will turn the smoke down.

From that point next 1-2 minutes there comes part where can be seen when some smoke appears and disappears.

May be our F-5E wants to be like her bigger cousin smoky Phantom :D.

Phantoms had a sneaky way to deal with eagles, one flight would attempt to engage, while another would set up an ambush by going smokeless, one engine in burner and the other close to idle, result no smoke. Many an Ego driver were felled by the distraction trick.
