A new rookie pilot should not in my opinion be jumping straight into an organized campaign without first learning an airframe of their choice and knowing at least a minimal amount of brevity and comm self restraint. It's very easy to learn all it takes is some practice just not practice in BF in the middle of other people's comms and flights.

Well, yes, I'm 100% agree with you on this mate. Blue Flag isn't a training server for sure and as it has been said multiple times it has high standards which doesn't suit for rookies. In the end, I just hope the Blue Flag experience will motivate people to dig deeper in the learning process.

Flying with the RVE guys, and tasking charcot flight has been an pleasure for me this round. There have been other very fun experiences with some pilots I had.

Thank you very much mate.

Why am I on BlueFlag ? Because as far as I know this is the only server where you can find teamwork at all points. GCI, MUDs, SWEEP and CAP. Even JTAC sometimes. What else ?

Maybe the popularity is going to ruin the spirit. Because we could all agree with that : this is not a training server. Many people don't use Simple Radio, teamspeak or even the chat to communicate and coordinate. I don't know if they are unable (they don't speak english) or if they juste don't know how it works or even if they care about, but it's ruining my experience...

Anyway, as many people here, I hope things will change. I'll try to open a thread or answer an existing one on the BF forum to complain and try to propose some solutions.

Cheers.

BTW that was Coltrouge and Weld in Cock flight.

That's a negative, I was temporarilly assigned as COCK32 by Coltrogue and it was fun as hell. I literally have like no experience in formation flying since my stick was not able of extreme precision flying for a looong time (imagine setting curves to the wrong direction... xD ) and that was a good moment for easy practice since there were 3 other aircraft making sure I won't get shot down while trying to stay in formation. I hope someone has a recording of that. It really was one of the calmer and relaxing moments during a hot and stressful phase.

On a personal note: two 2-ships each consisting of a Mirage followed by an Eagle is both fascinating and surreal. :D

Just a message to all the Blue side Heli pilots. STOP RESPAWNING BEFORE YOU ARE KILLED! I'm not a score whore, but this is rediculous everytime I down a Heli, and before they hit the ground they either disconnect or go spectator. Same with the rage quitter jets I shoot! If you are killed let the pilot get credit for the kill and stop being dumb!

You guys were recorded on a live stream. Indeed, Mirages are kinda tiny comparing to the F-15C big mommies.

I have a serious question and it isn't trolling what so ever...why does it seem like blue has just quit? Once we took Tblisi and the surrounding airfields it seems like the blue side just stopped showing up. It could just be a lull but maybe someone could answer.

Although it sounds like excuses, to be honest, after weeks in testing and the same in the round, I feel like there's a certain spot in the progression of the round. Krasnador center was a wall that we got stuck on after a hard fought battle for maykop. You can only take maykop so many times and have it closed erroneously after restart, just to have red take it back easily from kras-pash before your desire to peel the onion again falls off. The help pilots have to fly for days just to get to maykop and the pak1 far is shielded by a gazillion indestructible 29 AI's. It got frustrating and my desire to attempt it has fallen off.

In addition, every time we had a package capable of taking kras, some clown would fly a lone fighter up to anapa, and gelendzhik and spawn 8-10 all seeing 29's that took 4 missiles to shoot down. My spirit was admittedly broken.

It was discussed, but I'd love to see rounds lasting 4 hours so you had time to take an airbase and then fly helos to repair it in an effort to sustain the fruits of your labor.

Fwiw, I know red suffered the same plight. I could be wrong, but I'd put the AI29'S up against the f4's any day. I watched the f4s scramble when kras hit maykop the other day. They flew 100 miles east towards min vody instead of fighting enemy reds south of the lake at kras. It was reminiscent of Iraqi fighters saying "**** this" and landing in iran.

I just re-watched the footage and it was indeed a glorious, peaceful moment, I got goose bumps.

I got struck by SRS with my pants down but I adapted pretty easily to it and now I wouldn't fly another minute without it. No pesky whisper setups in teamspeak, almost no unneccessary and distracting chatter on the important frequency - awesome!

Maybe, when round 9 comes up, all the nuggets hit the tarmac and the veterans of us should carry them a little to bring them up to speed during the testing phase - if there ever is one. Sure, we can't force them to join SRS or TS (I'd always prefer the former) but if they want to be a real useful asset they need to get their act together. I'd offer my services for the german speaking part of the community to help with SRS setup and sharing (my often bespoken limited) knowledge about the F-15, air combat, tactics and communication/brevity.

Thanks for the reply. I agree that the rounds should be 4 hours. 3 just isn't enough given what we do in there.

If it already hasn't been done, maybe there should be a nice mission brief/explanation on the buddy spike website that goes over what this server is and more appropriately, how one is expected to play; get on comms, get tasking from gci and what gci is, that this is a team play based server, etc.

Well that is what the sop is for but especially the people joining at random don't read it.

If the server was passworded and the password was somewhere in the SOP, it would help, if not alleviate this issue.

It would help a bit but if someone is not communicating or working as a team what do we do about that? All people really have to do us just scroll through to the password and boom they're in. Really it needs to be more heavily moderated by the BS team and kick out those who are not actively contributing in the campaign.

Well, you won't reach as many people with "just" a website or novel.

You really need to shout out to the nuggets and say "Come here, we show you some of our tricks and stunts to make you more combat effective!" - and I'm not just talking tactics. In recent streams or even in the global chat on the server I saw many people stating that their SR doesn't work properly. If we just get half of the missing people on comms we would actually do way better because not all of them are noobs/nuggets. Just a little lazy for comms and/or installing 3rd party programms.

I guess you could change the pw somewhat regularly? Or even have the mods politely request people join ts or be kicked (not banned) from the server? If there is some advanced notice of the practice, I wouldn't consider it rude, and let's face it, the only people who will are the ones not in comma and not participating.

Before you say some squads are in separate comms, it's not difficult to be in the ts, but muted, as a way of saying "present" and in attendance.

No totally agree. Being present in ts could be an attendance sheet for admins.

Team speak is a cluster f..k it was annoying as hell last night on red side everybody giving play by play of every non important action. Gci needs to be on Simple radio period as an sop.

Those are not new problems you guys are describing, I have joined the fun in Round 5 and it was the same back then.

I wrote about this in my post here:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2868876&postcount=505

It is up to the BS team to decide where they want their campaign to be headed, and as far as I can tell they want to keep it open so the high fluctuation of players doesn't lead to an eventually empty server.

I think there's a fine line between running off your player base and funneling them into practices you'd like to make standard to increase the overall experience. There are ways, should they choose to do so.

the two are not mutuality exclusive , general status reports , mission planning and tasking should still be discussed in TS

SR is awesome tool , but it should be clean from all that and only GCI needs to use it (+channels for flights)

but you are correct , people should not report every time they lower flaps etc.

You didnt even specify which missile you are talking about.

If I am taking my time writing an elaborate post, please be so kind and do me the favour and at least specify which missile you are talking about and what aspect of the missile you consider obviously wrong.

And tell me which missiles in DCS arent obviously broken atm.

And if you have data which indicates something not obviosuly broken, beeing broken Razbam is happy to implement it for sure.
