BTW, you spelled "altitude" wrong. ;)

Yup...and "surveillance" as well. Its still an excellent diagram though graywo1fg. Just another suggestion...change "direction" to "bearing".

That's what we're here for, bud. I had a few errors in the first versions of my attachments here too. Some I caught myself, but others were noticed by other members.

Great contribution to the community, BTW. :D

And little green lights are secondary threats. Orange lights (with little green lights underneath) with bearing angle are primary threats.

Little triangle at the end of the signal strength “light strip” is your airplane.

Small parallelogram in the nose cone of the airplane is the ON indicator (light).

I have played yesterday a mission and was painted by a Mig-23. All I can say is the fact that at the beginning of the arc,the Mig was at 90-95 km and at the middle was at40-45 km.

I know for sure, because there was me and that Mig only in the air. I can do a track as well to prove it.

What aircraft does those range figures apply to?..

since all the aircrafts got different signal strenths.. But i guess.. F-15?

just wanted to be sure

Here's one I made back in the days..

Might be useful as well.

That's good for the F-15 and two flyable Sukhois. But for both MiG-29's, because of their weaker readars, I use: -7 (135), -6 (125, -5 (115, -4 (105), -3 (100) -2 (90), -1 (80), E (70), +1 (65), +2 (55), +3 (45), +4 (35), +5 (25), +6 (15), +7 (9).

I would only make one small comment. I would change "Altitude Indicator" to "Attitude Indicator".

As an example. If you are in a dive but the enemy is same level. The sensor will read it as the enemy above you, and vice versa.

If you are both at the same level and the threat is at your 9 o'clock. If you are doing a right hand turn the threat will be produced as lower and vice versa.

The indicator gives a rough threat position in relation to your aircraft attitude.
