Hadwell Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 where the 1080 gets 60 fps, the titan x gets 80 fps... basically... and the titan x is nearly double the price... but it IS the fastest gpu you can buy.... SkateZilla Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Double the price for less than 15% increase in performane in Non Cherry picked titles.. And DCS isnt one of those magic cherry picked titles that gets 40+% Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Konovalov Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 If you are happy with your bank balance getting a bloody nose all for the sake of claiming the fastest consumer GPU in the world then great and go for it. However I would not be surprised if Nvidia follow same track as in the past and release a 1080Ti which will probably have near the same performance of Titan X in games for 30% less the price of the Titan X. Each to their own. BitMaster Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 For less than 1% of the readers.... Ti or the one after the 1000er series....the Titans are just exorbital in pricing *edit* and the BIGGEST obstacle is no WC, you have to void your warranty to mount a water block...baaahhh. Sneakpeek Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Besides the price and the comparatively small benefit over the 1080: There are no customer Designs. The Card has lots of overclocking potential, but as long as only a single loud and weak cooler is installed on it - you just don't wanna use it.
Nooch Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Buying a titan doesn't make any sense, unless you are so rich you can throw your money out the window. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
*Rage* Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Good gains at 4k. Almost twice as fast as a 980ti. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
SkateZilla Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 wait for a 1080ti... same performance half the price.. lol. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
cichlidfan Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 wait for a 1080ti... same performance half the price.. lol. Exactly. There are very few sound reasons for buying a Titan. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
*Rage* Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Oh I will. But I wonder if nvidia will make the same mistake again as it did with the 980ti giving it 95% of the performance at half the price? Hadwell Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Well you gotta understand the Titan X isn't a high volume card... a few will be made, generally for those that just want to say "I have the most powerful card with the most memory" and don't know and cant be bothered to care about overclocking... it's not meant for people who actually know what they're doing...
