Hi guys,

I’ve been trying out the JF-17 during the free fly and SSA doesn’t appear to output any engine rumble so my shakers sit idle... the effect doesn’t appear to activate at all in the effect monitor.

If I go full throttle then afterburner activates in the effects monitor and I get rumble. Guns rumble etc etc so that’s all working... no errors in sound module, other aircraft engines function fine. Just the JF-17 engine effect seemingly failing to activate.

Any ideas? I’ve checked the obvious that i haven’t accidentally deselected it in the menu, tried both latest stable and latest beta SSA. Couldn’t find anything in search so I assume it’s just me...

cheers!

Hi, been away some months and fired up DCS for the first time since September. Got this error (which I got back in September as well but managed to solve - check second link!). However, now I'm at a loss of what to do to fix this. If I just click "Continue" it starts up but it can't find Sound Module Application (which is working, I have tested that separately).

All help appreciated! Thanks

What  can't find SSA?

Gametrix JetSeats thread (in English) ,

SimShaker addon for bass-shakers thread (in English),

Andre's blog, downloads, manuals (in English).

Sorry, meant "Sound Module Application". I assume it's referring to SimShaker Sound Module.

Do you mean that SimShaker for Aviators  can't find SimShaker Sound Module to start the latter automatically?

May I see a good quality screenshot?

Yes, SimShaker Sound Module works (When I push the test button, it vibrates). Attached are the screenshot although I still suspect that the error is connected to Windows 10 security settings (which I hadn't changed until I suddenly got this error) ref the second screenshot.

Ps. I use your IL-2 software without any problems.

Thank you. Please try to get fresh versions of SimShaker for Aviators by f4l0 and SimShaker Sound Module from simshaker.com website and replace your outdated apps.

Thanks! I reinstalled SSA and reapplied the exception on my anti virus and then it worked 🙂

AFAIK the JF-17 has only a digital display for the RPM. I have no way to extract the digital value, out of the box. Thus getting the RPM is an issue here... this might change in the future but currently its a "known missing feature".

May I how did you get the rpm value? From cockpit edm arg or any other method?

I can prepare and export the rpm data via a virtual arg.

Anyone know is the P47/DCS is supported yet? I keep getting a kind of simshaker crash when I try to play it (says oops something went wrong). Any ideas?

I also seem to be getting no effect from the thrust or afterburner with my spitfire (on 100) whereas things like guns work very well.

That would be great! You can use a draw arg. SSA reads external and cockpit 3d args. We can discuss the details via private messages, please contact me...

Which SSA version do you use?

Usually the release version but I also tried the beta to no avail. I think I will try a reinstallation.

The P47 is available in the latest beta, you can find it here: https://simshaker.com/software/general/

Thanks. Any idea why the spitfire isn't working properly? The thrust seems to be dead, kinda breaks all immersion.

What do you mean with dead? that the engine effects cuts out on low idle? The reason for this is, that SSA reads the RPM gauges, however, the RPM gauge in the spitfire does not show low rpm values thus SSA can not detect if the engine is running or not...

No. I mean when I use the throttle (increase or decrease) I cannot feel any effects. I cannot feel the effects of the thrust increasing or decreasing when in an earlier version of DCS this wasn't the case. I can feel the engines, and guns and other things, but when I increase the throttle to max or pull it back down to idle nothing is happening, and it detracts from the feeling of flying a plane.

Edit- yeah its definately a spitfire problem. Collective works fine in my helicopter. I've noticed too though that the SS software in DCS has a nasty habbit of continuing to work even when I have paused the game or gone into the menu and it will take a while to stop rumbling.

Wolf it takes 5 seconds after getting into the menu for the seat to stop vibrating. I would not call this nasty.

Well we have our own opinions then buddy. It's not a big thing I agree but it does kind of feel a bit broken sometimes especially if you've just crashed an AC and it continues to shake violently when you are not in a plane anymore. Sometimes makes me think the game or software will crash and actually I have had historical experience with this happening with big crashes which might be why I associate the feeling with something not working quite as it should. Regardless I prefer it in great battles when the feedback ends as soon as the game is stopped or paused. Maybe being pedantic I don't know, just doesen't feel quite right to me and a bit unpolished.

DCS does not provide the best export interface and of course, there are some issues here and there but this is a one man show I'm performing in my free time. Thus it is what it is... From time to time there might be some improvements...

I know, I'm not complaining and am grateful for your efforts. Just pointing it out in case you didn't know about it or else I was the only one experiencing this problem and it was an issue with my own rig or something.
