Fulcrum all the way!

I've flown a high fidelity Fulcrum, while I have flown the F-16 for endless hours.

With only the outdated Mig-21 for Russia, this is what the line up will look like in DCS.

Don't you think it would be best for the community to have a Russian fighter like the 29?

Assuming they could get enough data...

Fulcrum go!

In my modest opinion, sim fighting is more fun if you have matched opponents.

Also I find that Russian fighters are under-represented among the full-cockpit mods.

So my vote goes to Mig-29.

If we are going to wish, can we have both?

I want a Block 5 F-35A with lasers and SDB IIs for all

For the F35 you can wait some 50 years or more i think.

The F-35 is a very interesting Fighter but also too classified to build it up for DCS. Maybe in 30 years.

I voted for the F-16. I love this fighter so much and played Falcon 3.0 and 4.0 many time. Would be my dream to have a full modeled F-16C Block 50/52 for DCS

Both!

That's a really tough choice. I'd love to see a high fidelity Fulcrum but I have to go with the F-16 due to it's multi-role capabilities.

If I could pick ANY two planes to put up for a vote i've always wanted to see a Tu-160 or B-1 in game. It would be pretty cool to have supersonic bombers.

Strictly from a gameplay point of view, there will be a disproportionally large number of 4th gen and Fox-3 capable aircraft introduced in the near future: The upcoming F/A-18, F-14A/B and AV-8B.

ED might want to look into giving the REDFOR some more options for carrying active radar homing missiles besides the MiG-29S.

I have to agree, solid suggestion.

F-16. We already have an excellent MIG-29A/S which will get better with the new flight model. Unless they bring an SMT/M/K I won't have interested in a full detailed model.

DCS quality Mig-29!!Not even a question in my mind for a second, PFM, clickable cockpit,etc..The M2K is basically a delta winged F-16 anyways..

Where did you get that from?

The only other publicly acknowledged aircraft (after the Hornet and Spit) that ED are working on are the P-47 and the Me-262.

ED have recently said the P-47 is on partial hold while they get more data for it, ergo it is not unlikely that the 262 is the next aircraft.

It's also a jet, so satisfies the OP's "What'll be the next jet" question.

ED obviously could have something else unacknowledged going on in the background they could spring on us, but considering they've said the Su-33 PFM has now slipped to 2017 (also linked to now posponed Carrier rework, as no PFM/EFM planes can use them properly), and that there is a Mig-29 PFM in the works, I'd say that's unlikely.

Yes i agree we need more full fidelity russian birds.

Altho I agree we need more eastern highly modeled aircraft (Su-17, 25, 27, J-10, 11, Mig-23, 27, 29, etc.) if I have to choose I will always choose the F-16. Even F-16A block 5 vs Mig-29A. Same way if I had to choose between SU-25 and the Mig-29, the SU-25 would win.

Neither.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

DCS needs a high fidelity "multirole" Russian aircraft, such as the Mig-29.

This is one of the biggest things that make the other sim attractive having a "multirole" aircraft to build the sim around.

The F18 is on the way and I cannot wait for this.

Having a high fidelity Russian "multirole" would be the cherry on top, it will help with the multiplayer mission and online event builders too.

Carrier ops

SEAD - aircraft F18

CAP - F18 / F14

CAS - A10

We are going to need balance for the red side.

The MiG-29 Fulcrum is on the ED Wiki? In-Development?

next to the F/A-18C Hornet.

I could only imagine the big fans of he other sim here tho if ED was to do the F16. No DC, No Big war chess bubble going on, etc etc.

The banning of forum members would perhaps double, given the sales volume from the other sim and the potential arguments here. Flight simmers are such a passionate bunch.

Personally, I'd take a F-16 above pretty much anything else. However, I'd really like to see some Russian full fidelity modules since right now we pretty much only have the MiG-15 and MiG-21, while the US are, within a year or two, going to have the A-10, F-18, F-14, AV-8B, and a rumored clickable F-15. The only upcoming Russian aircraft I know of is the Tu-22 by Black Cat Simulations, and they aren't even a confirmed third party yet. So a clickable MiG-29/25 or Su-27/33/25 would be amazing. But not as amazing as a F-16. :D

In this instance, it would have to be the MiG 29...

There's a number of reasons for this, mainly because there isn't a "modern" dull fidelity Russian fighter in the sim yet.

But also, consider that ED have upgraded the internal and external model of the MiG 29A recently...

Were they to create a full fidelity version of it, this would reduce the workload somewhat, whereas creating a full F16 cockpit from scratch is far more work.

If i were a betting man, I'd put my money on the MiG, but i wouldn't expect it for 2 years, minimum.
