Actually Mig-21's horizontal sustained turn rate is currently superior to F-5's, but only in a relatively narrow speed margin (high speeds of ~800 km/h).

Actually MiG-21 is superior at all speeds (1 deg/s or more) and especially at slow speeds (600 km/h) where it's 3deg/s faster than F-5 optimum STR when both are at full tanks. With half tanks MiG-21 has 4 deg/s edge over F-5. There's no need for the MiG to go for scissors as it can escape it simply with level turn as F-5 will have poor turn rate at that speed while MiG is at it's optimum.

edit: I haven't actually tested if level turn works but it seems to me like a plausible option considering the STR numbers.

The level turn seems the only good way for Mig to escape an F-5, more complex maneuvers can be followed through. F-5 auto flaps help with this! Even then, the F-5 pilot can make a reversal if unable to follow a sustained turn, causing a somewhat head-on merge ideally.

The Mig pilot however struggles to stay behind a violently maneuvering F-5, overshoot occurs easily when going guns. Deep stall due to pulling stick too hard is a significant risk.

Yeap, agreed Winchester. I am probably not going to purchase the Viggen, but I am stoked to see it and be around it. It's a neato plane. I'll be catching this program for sure!!

Hey guys,

Just to ease speculation- the Grudge Match Round 3 is in no way representative of any content release planned in DCS Friday! All I can say at the moment is that the plan is to distribute special files to the match participants, and those participants will be notified on how that will proceed :)

TeamSpeak Info is coming to participants via email first, so please make sure to check it often if you are on the roster!

SimpleRadio is a NO GO for this match. I love it, but it isn't doable particularly with unreleased special content in play

Thanks!

Hey Stuge, really saddened to hear you won't be able to make it this round, I hope all is well! You will be missed by your team of choice, and the opposing side can wipe a few beads of sweat away LOL

Good points on the MiG vs F-5, we saw several examples of that during Round 2. The overshoots and reversals were a solid tactic, in fact I think I remember a Red on Red friendly fire kill due to this!

That friendly fire incident was a freak accident :D

I have big problems in personal life currently but I'll be back later again :)

Hook do you know if this would work if we compiled all of the necessary files and used them in JSGME or OVEGME

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Hello,

It would be possible for sure, but as it stands now file distribution will be in the form of a download provided by Leatherneck that contains the CoreMod files needed for match participants to see and interact with (but not fly of course :) the AJS-37. Once a contest gets those files, use of other programs to install them is totally up to them, provided they can have it up and running nearly as quickly as simply dragging and dropping the files into the install. We probably won't be able to provide a JGSME version officially before the match, so that will be in the hands of the end user as long as what you guys make works OK :)

Oh as long as it's a core mods folder it's easy to make a containment folder for it.

Right now all files planned to be distributed to the participants of the match are planned to be under the CoreMods folder, so I don't see it being any trouble if you wanted to make a JGSME version for your own install. This will of course be repeated once the file share goes live to match participants, but these files are of course not authorize to be distributed outside of the Grudge Match around 3 participants or staff, as you can imagine ;)

Maybe you should change the Streamer, Hooks stream seems to have some real bad internet issues, it's buffering a lot

Yes, it's 10sec of live, and then buffer
