walmis Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 Great work, but you need to remove turkey feathers from engine nozzles. Yeah i need to rework the nozzles. This model totally deserves to be submited to ED actually, upgraded with some visual damage model, and it's 3D author immortalized in LockOn credits. I'm just pondering why you were hiding your work in progress from us. Comming with such a surprise is quite a big shock. So many talented people out there, I believe ED should provide even more tools, some SDK for plane makers. I would prefer to do it myself :) OMFG this is simply amazing! When did you start doing it because it came out so fast. It didnt.. I started it in summer, but i lost interest so i left it. Now i noticed there is a big demand on a new one, so i resurrected it a week ago, now i'm on vacation so i`m working on it 10 hours a day :shocking: (yes i am crazy :D) Some of you asked, whether it's compatible with old skins, well in the renders it's using "F-15C Compass Ghost/Mod Grey paint scheme w/ Weathering By D-Scythe" ;) So yes it is compatible. Gonna show some ingame shots later when its more complete. btw, can someone help me find ejection seat textures in cdds files. Searched it myself but didnt find it, maybe you have a better eye. :) 1
Ghostrida9 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 AHHH MAAAN, U BLEw Me OUt OF My CHAIR::::: HRGHHH, This is awesome, amazin, crayzie..outstandin...AHHHH (yea tha pilot need his black visir and his mask) but tha F-15 AHHHHH I'M runnin awaaayyyyy. toooo NICE RAF Gütersloh Airbase Project Now or Never
Pilotasso Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 btw, can someone help me find ejection seat textures in cdds files. Searched it myself but didnt find it, maybe you have a better eye. :) the file you can use is in \LOMAC\Bazar\World\cockpitstexturesbmp.cdds named F-15-ACES.BMP I suspect this is an in cockpit texture, not the one seen from outside the model but I think theres no reason why you would be limited in not using it. 1 .
Rhen Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Any possibility of a 3d pit too? Ya know, just in case we can get 6dof for the Eagle too? Just wondering.
Pilotasso Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Nope, that requires binary code tweaking. We wouldnt gain much by another pit if the functionalities are the same. Just cosmetics. .
rlogue Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Nope, that requires binary code tweaking. We wouldnt gain much by another pit if the functionalities are the same. Just cosmetics. What do we gain by the F-15 model ? Isn't that cosmetics too ? Point being .. cosmetics are a good thing. 1
Pilotasso Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Well yeah, but you cant improve the pit much if you cant tweak the code anyway. The F-15's model seen from inside the pit makes my eyes hurt though. There will be no loss if we get the model. If we were going to make pits it would be for new aircraft since it apears that all AI aircraft are going to have the standard flight model in Black shark. Right now they have super-plane model if you use the humancocpit=yes text tweak. I was making an F-16 pit for an experiment, but had a HD trouble and lost it. :( I have no courage to start again as my free time is shrinking. .
GGTharos Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 A 3D pit for the 15 would be a very welcome addition, especially if 6DOF was made available. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Pilotasso Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 A 3D pit for the 15 would be a very welcome addition, especially if 6DOF was made available. Unfortunatly we can only experiment new Pits. MFD functions are hardcoded an I still dont know exactly how to place MFD screens correctly in their 3D places. .
Mustang Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Oh yes! this will be a MUST HAVE!! this F-15, with your Weapons Pack, totally awesome  can't wait!
SuperKungFu Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 now i'm on vacation so i`m working on it 10 hours a day :shocking: (yes i am crazy :D) lol go on vacation more often. Btw...hows the poly count so far? And more screenshots on the front/nose of the aircraft, love to see how round it it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

SuperKungFu Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 btw, which layout of the F-15 did you use to create the model. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
StrikeMax Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 yeah, definately! :) I wanted to ask, does anybody know how to make objects/materials to be lit in the dark? Cant seem to figure that one out :noexpression: a "self illuminating" material should work. try to creat a amaterial and check self illuminating in the material editor, and try to view it in the lomac object viewer.(and dim the lights of the environment". please let me know if they work. If they do, the easiest thing is to make another hidden model for the HUD and the pilot head/helmet. Assign a self illum. material (green color) and set their property to be visible only when the correponding argument is true arg 69 ithink (original model should be hidden by then). ps. pm is not working for me?!!!

Self illumination was the first thing i tried, it didnt work :( EDIT: it worked when i checked the color checkbox. Maybe you turned off pm's in the forum preferences? btw, which layout of the F-15 did you use to create the model. err, what do you mean exactly?
SuperKungFu Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 sorry i should reword it, its like the blueprints you used to get the shape of the aircraft. Like this http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=FFD165F376530B43 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
walmis Posted November 1, 2006 Author Posted November 1, 2006 sorry i should reword it, its like the blueprints you used to get the shape of the aircraft. Like this http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=FFD165F376530B43 they are from airwar.ru StrikeMax, i have another question. Do you know how to make animations with 0.0x argument precision in viewer? I need to do visibility from 0.01 to 0.1. I mean there are only 60 frames supported, from -30 to 30  EDIT: Made a nice find, You can actually have the number of frames you want, just you need to set the FPS == FRAMES, for example if you have +-100 frames then you need to set fps to 100
SuperKungFu Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 cool, glad you got it working. Do you plan to do model some crazy detail like see the turbine spinning from the front view. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
walmis Posted November 1, 2006 Author Posted November 1, 2006 cool, glad you got it working. Do you plan to do model some crazy detail like see the turbine spinning from the front view. Maybe in the future, now i need to make some "Basic" things ;) I`m thinking of making thrust vectoring animations :) The original f-15 has thrust vectoring nozzles, i made them also for my f-15. EDIT: Oh well, that plan went to hell, the afterburner flame is in the way
Pilotasso Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 The only thrust vetoring nozzle F-15 I ever heard was the ACTIVE F-15 wich was never more than a test airframe. I have no idea where you got that info. .
