One question what is the fidelity of M2KC flight model?

It's ED dragging the chain on that one

And has been for a very long time... :music_whistling:

Thing is work seems to have slowed down on the m2k, and there is still a lot of work to be done on the damage system of this module, as it is right now, you will get the same things to break on the plane regardless of what hits you, sam, AA missile, guns or whatever. Also some ground radar functions missing and not implemented. These damage model stuff have not been acknowledged by the devs and i don`t know if they ever get implemented. And as stated above still lots of stuff missing from the plane in terms of systems. Really hope this does not get abandoned, as it seems right now they moved on to another project.

Anti-runway weapon in M2000?

Aught, there is no Durandal in DCS. However the anti-runway mission has been largely reasigned to standoff weapons, like JSOW, BK90, and cruise missiles. Modern short range air defenses, preclude any realistic expectation of asset survival when deploying any weapon that requires target overflight. That said, in a simulation, I would not mind having Durandals for M2000, F-16, and F-15E. If we ever get a decent Tornado GR4 module, then JP233 would be cool.

I recall back in the day, with my first flight sims, Falcon 3.0, Falcon 4.0, and Jane's F-15E, how fun it was to fly 100 feet on full afterburner, when deploying durandals.

The M2000 uses the BAP-100 anti-runway weapon.

Not sure, maybe because it was the only anti-runway weapon the French had available. Also, the M2000C was mostly used for interception and they probably didn't bother integrating Durandal with their systems. Also, flying over a runway these days is too dangerous.

Let's not pretend this is not the most beautiful aircraft ever made.

BAP-100 and Durandal were from the same time era.

In 1986 in Tchad, the Jaguar crew choosed the BAP 100 over the Durandal.

You can carry 18 BAP-100 vs 4 to 6 Durandal, so you can more reliably cut a runway.

It's beautiful indeed. I just hate the fixed unretracted refueling probe. Seems stupid, I'm sorry to say :D

The probe is what makes it so elegant. It's like a beauty mark which enhances the symmetry of the aircraft.

not even a particular fan of tail less delta winged aircraft but even the Rafayle looks nicer.

but to each his own i guess.

The flight model is very good. I'd say it's still a tiny bit questionable in some edge case scenarios but if you fly like a half sensible person, unlike me, you'll never notice.

From a gameplay perspective, it's amazing. The FBW softens your inputs to prevent you from killing yourself before you hit the ground, but it doesn't feel restrictive at all. The plane stays where you put it and will always be trimmed for 1G flight unless you're nearly stalling. Formation takes a bit of getting used to and PIO is common due to the damped nature of the flight controls, but eventually it will "click" and you'll be able to stay right where you want to be.

Definitely worth the money.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

No !! It's part of it's identity :D
