EasyEB
Since update 1.5.6.3690 the A-10C has become sluggish and more unstable when turning or making sharp maneuvers. The plane acts as if the center of gravity has been pushed back and the plane sways back and forth when making sharp maneuvers. This is related to the altitude hold issue reported here, as both were introduced at the same time and is possibly related to each other: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185536 But even though the autopilot altitude hold issue was resolved, the introduced swaying remains. EasyEB
Ok, here are tracks from version 1.5.6.1938.247 where the swaying is not present, and version 1.5.6.4546.280 where the swaying is present. I also shot video of the two version where I try to execute the same maneuver so the swaying is comparable. In the videos, note the swaying of the aircraft when banking in to a turn, and when straightening out of a turn. Also note how long it takes for the gun cross to stabilize after rolling in on the X on the ground. DCS version 1.5.6.1938.247 - before the swaying was introduced DCS version 1.5.6.4546.280 - after the swaying was introduced See tracks from the two versions in the attached files. No mods used. No input is made other than the stick.1.5.6.1938.247_swaytest.trk1.5.6.4546.280_swaytest.trk
TheBamse
Can't agree more. Then handling is quite different for precision work after the patch.
JazonXD
The same patch that broke the ATT Hold also did this, IIRC. They fixed the ATT Hold, but I think this oscillation is caused by the yaw SAS channel being disabled even though you have the switched turned on. Seems like they still haven't fixed that yet. Pocket Sized
Try seeing if there's any difference with the SAS switches on or off. It sounds like a yaw SAS problem but your comment about the apparent CG shift makes me think there's an issue with the pitch SAS as well. DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.
RyboPops
Tested and confirmed last night on my end as well. To be thorough I flew it with the keyboard (with my Warthog and pedals unplugged) to verify it wasn't a calibration issue...Nose yaws like it's at a 1929 swing dance party. SuperSix2
While I see this as a problem I hope we all understand that just because you have SAS YAW on doesn't mean you don't need to use the rudder. Especially for aggressive turns like above your feet should be on the rudders.
SkateZilla
Keyboard can Easily cause stalling, the up/down keys act as trim IIRC so the elevators will not reset to neutral on release. Will give A-10C a Rough Flight and Record tracks and report if needed. Vitormouraa
I noticed some differences when flying the A-10C yesterday too. I even talked to a friend of mine about the A-10C being different...
