capthaltli Posted May 2, 2017 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Yes all would be amazing additions...Late 80s very early 90s were my absolute favorite time for carrier aviation...F-14s, A-7s, A-6Es, EA/6Bs, F-18s, C-2, E-2 and SH-3. The most diverse number of airframes on a carrier at once. It was awesome:D. Would love to be able to get a cooperative environment one day where we had multiple squadron's operating multiple naval variants in the same environment...Heck even the AV-8B off an LHA deck will be awesome as well! +1 I am in the same boat! There was also a USN F-4G back in the 60's that had updated nav suite and ACLS... it only made one war cruise in Vietnam before the jets were converted back to F-4B's and the designation dropped. The USAF, in the late 70's then picked the F-4G designation up for the Wild Weasel V modified F-4E's it was replacing the F-105G Wild Weasel III airframes with. Ah that's good to know, there are times when the F-4's various variants can be really confusing, but it's good to know, glad to have learned something new!
