The last few days the moderators have beaten the guiness world record of thread deleting.

 

There seems to be some resent between the community, I say lets end all this kenan V.XX breadfan, edible socks whatnot bashing threads and posts.

 

Its one thing to have a laugh after one community member dillusional posts, but I think its an entirely different thing the gratuit and explicit posts or threads with the sole intention to make fun of somebody. Thats for unsecure people.

 

Kenan appart, I also regret the recent use of the term "fanboy" by some of the reputable menbers of the community (you know who you are) torwards those who have been asking for more realism, either on the F-15/AMRAAM or the russian birds on the part of those who fly them all. Tell me If Im wrong but I fail to see that someone who used the tag "Fanboys" on a recently deleted thread to be aplied to anyone else but me, GG, and Dr Sythe. I find this regretable specialy when those comments come mostly from people who fly only their favourite aircraft and care nothing about the others. Selfish points of view serve nothing but killing the simulation.

 

Personaly despite being heavily challenged in such arguments, I believe I have never accused, insulted or downplayed anybody that I have exchanged heated debates with. I would have liked better if some others on the other side of the fence had donne the same.

For all those who doesnt like the idea the other plane to become better for a realism issue, my challenge to them: Fly that plane now to get an idea, and dont sit in the corner quietly wanting it to be as porked as you need to get the kills. Fly it and then we shall see whos a fanboy or wich plane needs fixing the most.

 

Use this thread for anything you wanted to say but spare the boards from flooding. Hyjack it at will as long as you keep it away from other threads.

K-Man is posting to be funny and from what ive seen mostly "fanboys" who take it too seriously take offence and the thread is deleted or locked.

Kenan is a good friend of mine and it hurts me to see my friend have his funny threads deleted just because some members take offence and turn them in to flame wars.

Yes we do, but we really don't want to ban half of Croatia from the forum just to get rid of Kenan ;) .

Heh...yeah...I suppose if most were on DHCP in that region that IP banning could become a problem for other members from there. :)

It would be useless against guys like me with dynamic IP (very practically to have free unlimited download access too).

BTW...I agree...there's not all that much wrong with the term "fanboy", it reflects badly mostly upon those who use the term since it is usually the nuke they use when they have no further, intelligent argument to present. :)

I find it quite ironic that people hate the term fanboy then claim that F15 unrealistc when thats all they fly , seems to me some things are said in JEST because other people bemoan their preffered faults like the game is against them and swung in someone elses favour??They are the ones creating a line of 'them against us' instead of realising LOMAC is more than just flying US planes, the fact is its not just the F15 thats lacking in areas its everything. But the way some threads are written out you'd swear Russian planes were all Ed cared about.

Fanboy has had a negative connotation ever since it started being used (or more properly, fanboi). It is a derision, and necessarily a factual term.

 

There are two sides, yes, but this is fortunate, not -un-fortunate. What is unfortunate is that in almost all cases one side fails to understand the other.

I had always thought the term "fanboy" was a reference to the original concept of the Egyptian and Roman emperors having a certain contingent of slaves that did little more than fan the royalty to keep them cool in hot climates. I think "fanboi" is just a more modern, net-speak version of the same thing. But, its true, the word "fanboy" flies from both sides of the fence, its an insult used when the user has no further contribution to a debate. :)

I follow these forums since Y2K when I joined the Flanker forum at flanker2.com and I still believe it was the most informative, dynamic(sometimes even hot) and helpful than any other flight sim forum I joined after it went down. Not to mention that IMO it had the best format I've ever seen in a forum(Hey Alfa, I remember you copied it for your own forum :D BTW, is your site still up?). I learned a lot about the sim and aviation in general due to that Forum, also I met some great people there. I really miss it and unfortunately I beleive that there won't be such a great site ever again.

The lockon.ru forum is now the only place I visit to inform myself about the flight sim I'm currently flying. I would like to see as little spam and flame wars as possible. But the thing is the the some people, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, think that they could say everything to anyone without considering that behind every monitor is sitting a human being. I can't be insulted by some virtual stranger, I would just leave the forum for good and look for another place.

If no one tells us then we assume the wrong things, give us a reason bad enough to warrant a good man being banned from here.

 

He jokes about some bugs in the game and gets a ban ?

 

He got some very nasty PM's from members they didnt get a ban.

Good point! Yet Hajduk is still here (he's annoying and a bit arrogant considering his lack of experience in the real world of aviation, but he's cool)...oh and let's not forget Protos who basically does nothing here but flame people, especially when they support ED. Hajduk has a warning to his name...yet Mr. Protos doesn't? At least Hajduk has something to offer aside from insults.

I guess that's because the moderator is not from these places and doesn't understand the balkan humor, which is very black and silly, almost like Borat's jokes - I've seen it many times, when ppl didn't get the joke and were offended for nothing.

 

 

Although Kenan was banned from almost every other forum in Balkans, I can tell you he behaves very nicely here and should get a pass...

Right on, Suntrace! :D I, like many others, understand what "banned" means, but it sure would be nice to know the specific reason for his banning. Even his sig photos were funny...I'd swear Kenan was just Ewan McGregor when he got bored. :)
