Not really sure what you are asking here... do you want to know which we use or which is faster... ?

In order to get modules ASAP I would go with the ED downloader. I don't think they put anything early access on steam.

There are often coming issues up which differ between both installs and the users have to say which install they use.

Caused by this i just asked myself how many users use Steam and how many use ED`s Download.

For sure there is an DCS Forum aswell in Steam so not everyone will ever see this Poll.

When you say "not everyone" I think you should be aware it's really "basically no-one".

You're not going to get the answers you're looking for, but I am curious, so why do you ask the question?

I was running it of Steam initially, but went ED standalone when the 190 (or was it 109, cant remember which came first) rolled out in Early Access.

If Early Access was available on Steam, I think Id still be running it of Steam.

As I am apparently one of only few people who use Steam I feel obliged to come forward and express that I have only good experience using the Steam version. The speed of download is also excellent and if you are subscribed to the beta branch there is only a few days of delay on each update. On the other hand, I understand why those who are interested in a module that is not available on Steam would prefer to migrate to the standalone version.

i originally used steam for convenience of having among other games from there, but then i eventually uninstalled and got the ED installer because you can get early access/ beta content sooner.

did not want to wait X weeks or months before it was deemed acceptable for steam standards, or the fact that Something like Nevada 2.0 being still alpha, is yet to even release on steam even after a full year. Steam users have to wait too long for ED products using that launcher.

I used Steam until DCS World was released. Since then, I've exclusively used the ED downloader version. I do prefer Steam to ED's downloader though, but I'd rather have early access, so..... :D

I use ED for DCS, Steam for other games. I did download DCS and the SU27 and F15 from Steam, but since there's a lot on here that isn't on Steam (but everything on Steam is here), it just makes more sense to do everything DCS here.

and the stable and good enough module made by ED official, BST had already released on steam.

the new and creepy module is always for the lab mice, I don't want to waste money on them.

I always buy from ED, I would prefer the (minimum) 30% that steam takes from each sale, goes to ED to continue to create more content and keep dcs world updated.
