sedenion Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 I finally spend some time to create a decent corrected specular map texture. I also corrected specular map for the exhaust nozzle, who was also pretty strange. Enjoy for who like it, download here :) 1

Azrayen Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 I find it a bit too shiny... but then, what isn't currently in DCS 2.1? :) (oh, and yes, I saw the picture; take with a specific light, and a bit over-exposed) Will certainly test, to make a more informed opinion! :)

Anyway, if you compare with actual M2k photos, you should find this is almost correct.
Gliptal Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Excellent work! Does this make a difference with deferred shading off as well?
sedenion Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Excellent work! Does this make a difference with deferred shading off as well? Yes, but this is less spectacular.
Gliptal Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Yes, but this is less spectacular.Ok thanks, unfortunately my PC refuses to run deferred shading at anything but 1 FPS. :D
mr_mojo97 Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Hi, I don't know about these things so does this specular mapping occur on all skins or is it just this one? Ala12Rv-watermanpc Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 What a great job sedenion!!, many thanks for this,I agree textures (speculars) were inverted...it looks superb now. Take a look at my MODS here

cro_mig_21 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Can someone help me to get rid of these artifacts that are left behind when this great mod is installed...

Mav783 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi, i need to say this specular fix is a must to have for a more realistic Mirage 2000 ! Thank you :) But the textures of the Mirage did change recently with the update from Razbam, and the actual specular map is little different now. The result is some straggered textures (in game) between the actual diffuse and this "old" specular fix. I mean, not sure it's because of that, but i think it is maybe because of this. I wanna work on the actual new specular maps, to fix it again. But i think I will need the full layered files sources, the specular maps with all layers inside (.PSD). It's possible to add specular power with the actual flat DDS/PNG by “playing” with Photoshop, but details suffer from this method. Where can i find the sources (layered files) of the new specular maps for the Mirage ? I find layered sources for diffuse maps, skins, etc..but not the specular maps. Thanks you :) ++

If you want the old mod to work with the updated module, simply rename the textures in the mod from <blahblah>.bmp.dds to <blahblah>.dds...
Mav783 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Woo ! You started from a flat image ? That's skilled, you managed to keep some verry smalls areas on the plane out of specular map (lines and bolts). You made you own layer i think ? I will make my own version, but not sure that i will success to make it efficient as your version :joystick: Thank you for your answer :) --- Heuu mais tes Français XD ?
sedenion Posted January 19, 2018 Author Posted January 19, 2018 Woo ! You started from a flat image ? I started from the original specular map... essential data is already in it. That's skilled Not so much... you managed to keep some verry smalls areas on the plane out of specular map (lines and bolts). As I said, the essential data is already in the original specular map... I simply reused it. I mainly made a negative with some adjustement as base for "details", then added successively Red, Green and Blue layers for what appear to be roughness, specular and reflectivity. I will make my own version, but not sure that i will success to make it efficient as your version :joystick: Not impossible, I did not passed much time on it.
schurem Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 So I dropped these files in the right spot (/coremods/aircraft/m-2000C/Textures/M-2000C), but my Baguette looks perhaps even more plastic than it used to. Rocking a bare metal skin. Am I doing it wrong? I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL
