Is the interaction of the F-14 and the ships deck on Heatblurs to-do list or this an ED problem? IMO the physics for airplanes landing or parked on a moving ship are awful at the current moment.

you should look at the video released by bunnyap there's a great exemple of remade physics for landings in the f14

You can be sure that this is beeing worked on with high priority as it is essential for both, Heatblurs F-14 + Forrestral as well as EDs F/A-18 + Nimitz.

I'm not quiet sure how much Heatblur can do about this on their own, but ED is working on it as well.

Edit: Sniped by Cobra himself :)

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

And the Harrier, a lot of naval aviation coming up!

The F-14 is stable and works well on the carrier.

What's the secret??

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Also, will there be carrier motion in terms of pitch and roll? Or will the ships continue to run on rails?

I actually prefer the latter for initial familiarization, but would really like to have a more detailed environment to incorporate ship motion in the long term.

the ships already have roll motion, but im not sure about pitch :book:

They roll and pitch with the new water in 2.1. I confirmed that with some "carrier ops" in the UH-1. :)

The overall effect looks great on deck and the rate/magnitude changes with sea state.

And the sea state is tied to the wind. It would be nice if ED would separate the two and give us another tab in the Weather menu for Sea State so that the pitch, roll and heave would NOT be related to the wind.
