Hi Guys

I just wanted to report that after a rearm and refuel any external tanks seem to remain empty. I researched and found this mentioned quite a while ago and wasn't sure if a work around had been found.

I tried "rearming" the external fuel tank (2.1.1 NTTR), then refuel but it made no difference. It seemed only the internal tanks were filled to 100%. I had all boost pumps and cross feed off.

Cheers

Dave

I don't think this is a buG. The slider on the refuel page corresponds to the internal fuel capacity only. Jettison the empty tanks and equip new ones.

This by no means does this mean this is a bug... however other Modules in DCS do refuel the empty tanks.

I personally will jettison them because it takes longer to fill them on refueling and I am always anxious to get back in the action... However I understand not wanting to litter up our nice desert community as well...

Consideration should be made into recycling the external tanks hanging from the wing. Certainly in RL they don't make them jettison them on the tarmac to get a new tank filled. I mean we have seat belt limits to our head movements... why not have the ability to refill external tanks? My opinion only.

I am so anxious to get back in the action I don't refuel. I only mount external tanks and let them slowly fill the internal ones as I get into the action. Then dump them

lol

You can do that, but it takes a long time to transfer and if you are in burner almost no fuel will reach your internal tanks.

It doesn't take long for the F-5 to refuel the F-5's internal tanks and I have yet to see a mission online where more than a centerline tank is needed.

Actually I mostly fly without tanks to be as light as possible when I have to fight. F-5 does not maneuver well with too much fuel.

Usually a centerline tank is enough so it transfers quickly. For 30% or less fuel I do an full refuel. I drop everything when near enemies anyway.

I like to take a centerline with me, at least somewhat close to the AO, just in case. Once I get near any action, I drop the tank.

Hi, everyone! Sorry for long answer.

When rearming do you change external tanks? I noticed, that if I do not change type of external tanks or do not remove them, they won't refuel. You need to make two actions - first take them off, second - add new external tanks.

I asked ED team is this intended and will let you know their answer!
