Mi-8 Trim hat: How to achieve very fine adjustments

We all know that the trim adjustments (so named) are too coarse.

 

I figured out that if you map the autopilot roller adjustments to the trim hat, you will get fine grained adjustments that can be made very easily, without looking down at the roller knobs.

 

This is a game changer for me. Just passing it on.

I have been doing it this way since the Hip first made release, I thought it was the obvious way to go tbh:)

I sometimes still sit at no. 3 position and twiddle manually :music_whistling:

Actually, from the begining, I've assigned them on X-55's rotaries on throttle and I was happy with it.

 

Now assigning them on POV Hat feels weird, because it's not working like fixed wings' trim system.

Good find. I use trim hat for roller adjustments while 2 four-way buttons for heading and alt AP channels.
