changed M-2000 HUD font color...

I've managed to change the color of the HUD font for improved visibility...

I've tried different colors but black seems to work well, any thoughts to improve it?

Thank you.

C:\ProgramFiles\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Cockpit\VTH\HUD_definitions.lua

Starts at line 11 and is the same for 2.1.1.

Red line gave me black color, the blue line didn't seem to affect the color.

I'm used to working with RGB code which is made up of 3 groups of numbers...red green blue, the fourth group seems to affect the color strength I think.

Have fun with it.

Good.

Can you change the color of cockpit lights in Mirage from orange to green/blue as Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 has?

I spent a few hours hunting this one down because it was really affecting legibility for a lot of people. If I come across other light tweaks I'll post.

The following will give you,

Yellow HUD lettering: vth_ind_color = {246,216,34,225}

Dk green HUD lettering: vth_ind_color = {47,174,2,225}

Works in Alpha as well.

Wow... Thanks for digging that up and sharing. I like the yellow version.

BTW - Do you know if this will pass an integrity check in MP?

No idea, but if you go online, it will indicate to you with a red shield icon if it doesn't. Give it a try and send some feedback. My thoughts are that it should.

Just tried it, no problem. Flew on the 104th server.

So should this be reported to RAZBAM or ED? Who is responsible for this part of the integrity check?

Why would it need to be reported? Who cares if someone changes the color of the font on their HUD?

Why?

Just number changes in the same sequence - just changes colours. The file size is exactly the same size after the change.

That's great! You have any idea the name of this coding...using 4 groups of numbers instead of 3 for RGB? If I knew then I could easily get any color by putting it into a color converter.

No, I don't know of any name other than RGB. I've used this from back in the early IL2 days. The fourth number is, I think for intensity/opaqueness or something like that. Only the first three define the colours.

An easy way to choose your colour is as follows.

If you have MS Word, go into a blank page, at the top of the screen you will see colour adjustments for text. Click in there and you should see a colour pattern running through the rainbow and all shades. Move the small "x" over the colour that you want and then check below. You will see the three number sequence for the RGB colours. Just copy them into the format for the HUD. That's it. Easy Peasy!

I use a free color pick tool JCPICKER ...move the mouse over any color and you get the code, HTML, RGB, HEX etc.

Yes I agree the 4th group is color intensity, I'm trying to find the code number for max intensity.

255

I tried everything from 000-255, interestingly it seems 225 is the most intense, I would have also thought 255. I'm going to work on enlarging the HUD fonts, looks like there is room and that should make for easier viewing especially against the sky background.
