Wow, I figured the Harrier must have a crazy thrust/weight ratio but never realized it held the record for climb to 15000 ft! Sounds like it has amazing acceleration. Great video, lots of cool info.

Makes sence. It is a low level close air support, attack aircraft. So its performance is optimized for carrying usefull AG loads at low altitudes, avoiding enemy aircraft and air defense.

Oh man, I fully expect, once I get the module installed, to be a continuous crash parade. With F-5, aside from pesky landing spinouts, I was flying it the first day. AV-8B transitional flight is going to be crash, smash, and eject before getting it right on 127th try. If I am fortunate.

Those guys have awesome videos. I enjoyed this one a while ago. They also have an amazing one for the F-14. That's my kind of Seniors group lol. Even though I'm still along way from being a Senior haha.

On the subject of details and experiences, I encountered this in an article.

" In a shallow dive at 550 knots, Harrier pilots need to take a 5-G divergent "jink" (left or right) from the delivery azimuth after a one-second burst to prevent a fateful rendezvous with their own depleted uranium ricochets. And it’s worse when your targets are exploding (not least because it is tempting to admire one’s work). Certainly strafing is viable with a purpose-built system like the A-10, which was optimized for this kind of fun (and couldn’t catch-up with its own bullets on its best day)."

Probably difficult to implement, but perhaps something interesting to implement down the line?

Very many good insightful informations that you don't easily find or think from the manual. Like the one mentioned above how you can accelerate faster than a F-15C in vertical 0-15k ft altitude.

Or how you can have change to outmaneuver F/A-18C (pilot skill dependent).

But one key infos was that the DMT system allowed far more accurate bombing than the F/A-18 was capable, being very very precise.

And that is what makes me sometimes wonder as in many documents the pilots and designers has written that Harrier didn't get to use the TGP to improve bombing accuracy, but to simply observe and self-laze or buddy-laze, but that DMT system was still far more accurate for conventional bombing, when you just could acquire lock.

And one feature I am waiting is to get that TGP pod video transmitted to the ground troops. That is something ED needs to add by giving the JTAC a change to carry that digital pad so they can see what TGP sees and then mark the targets on that screen to be transmitted back to Harrier pilot.

That is one heck of a feature to put a A-10C pilots jealous when you at ground get to know what is going to happen.

Those two videos should be first to watch by every Harrier module buyer or anyone who is considering to fly CAS missions in DCS.
