Pictures of the real deal are not exactly accurate when it comes to shape and size of an object most of the time due to the camera's lens distorting the image, you can see that very clearly in the first picture you posted.

If you do really believe that RAZBAM has gotten something wrong with their Harrier do feel free to find the measurements of the real HUD and compare those to the in-game version.

The edge of the glare shield also look very different. I've been assured by Razbam that this and the hud dimensions have been checked against the real aircraft and are exactly as they should be.

It is out of shape.... :noexpression:

For 70 bucks in the final release I expect Heatblur graphic quality! Dont get me rong, I have already "Pre-purchased" the Harrier, love this plane!!!

Depends, i can live with a minor wrong shaped HUD as long as the Systems are simulated in good Quality. And the rest of the Plane is also in a good functional shape.

As for the glare shield and HUD glass, I would say wait until it comes out before speculating it's shape or any video of preview build. The ones that were given out for preview are 20 builds behind from what came out last week. Even the material in the HUD glass has changed.

That old video was initial for panel sections not glare shield really early development of the cockpit for gauge and panel placement.

The FOV really distorts the shape of glare shield and HUD when coming out at you, or going up from below.

I can live with external model not being exact, but HUD is something I will be seeing most of the time and it is a turn off as it is. It feels more like a day version version's which is more narrow than a night one.

Look at the previous comment with the screen screenshot of the straight on orthographic view compared to what you see in DCS, the glare shield does dip in. The FOV really screws up 2D view. VR is a different story.

Here is a pic of the latest HUD glass.

Thanks, yes new material... Also the M2000C UPDATE has the same material for it's HUD.

I didn't want you guys to freak out, it has been mentioned before on another forum, so I wanted to let you guys know.

The preview copies every one is seeing in Youtube are old builds. We are putting a lot of love into this to get it right.

Give me a few and I'll try to take a better pic of the glare shield from above angle in modelviewer to see it taper in.

Everything in that comparison looks different, because of the FOV. Everything.

Looks much better!

Why not just enjoy this undoubtedly accurate and complex module and not get wound up about the tiniest visual details? Of course it's not 100%, none of these ever will be, pretty damn close though eh? You haven't even "sat in the cockpit" and your picking at it. At least wait until you've gone around the pattern once, just one time, before you start in on what you think is wrong?
