Which DCS module is the Harrier on?

G'day,

 

Pardon if already answered but i can't find the AV-8 on any of the 3 modules on DCS world. I know RAZBAM and DCS said today is the access day but figured with the time difference might be later on today. Again, if im wrong, sorry.

Expect the Harrier to be released later today, most likely late afternoon (European Time)

The Harrier is a module of it's own. The 3 things you're talking about are the different branches (Open Alpha, Open Beta, Stable Release). I don't know though on which of them it will be released today. If I had to make a guess, I would say Open Alpha and Open Beta both.

Given that Jabber’s videos have been in the open alpha, I would guess that it’s a pretty good bet that it’s there, if not also in the open beta.

Wait what? We already saw people flying it on Nevada. If they only release it for Kaukasus that would be dissapointing :cry:

It will be available for both. The question is just "when". Maybe Nevada will have to wait another week. Maybe not. Let's just wait and see.

Why are we only recieving this information now? Everything we have seen so far has been posted using a 2.x build.

2.3 is a developer's version that has all three maps: Caucasus, Nevada and Normandy.

 

It is the testing version for 2.5 features.

Ok but this information should be stated on the pre-order page and made clear in official communications regarding this early access release. I and i'm sure many others have moved away from 1.5.x for performance and other issues.

 

I appreciate its probably dictated more by Eagle, than yourselves, but again this should really have been made clear earlier.

Nice! So nobody without Normandy or NTTR is excluded :thumbup: Would have loved to get this baby rockin in Vegas tonight but caucasus gives us a little bit more power for hovering :pilotfly:

It's absolutely your choice to move away from the release version of the game but the overwhelming majority of players only use that version.

Exactly. 1.5 is still the "normal" version that doesn't require to buy special terrain. But I'm sure the Harrier will be available for 2.x next week (or maybe even this Friday?).

I do believe we quite often have seen modules hit the 1.5.X test server before the others, and it is still an early access product and no one have from what I spelled my way through when i purchased it forced anyone into parting with their stosh.

Usually it will be on the live version in 1-2 weeks and then I think we will be smacked squarely in the faced with 2.5, what ever will happen no biggie, I plan on jumping in the AV-8B today, I just installed the betaclient, wasn't that bad, took all of 10 minutes (More or less a full copy from the live version), now waiting for the update.

2.1 is an Alpha version, updates and new modules always come after beta and release branch, really don't see why so many people don't understand this.

Because Razbam itself has officially stated in earlier posts (I dont remember if it was here or on FB) that the Harrier would be available for the Nevada Map as well.
