AV-8B for the NOOB

This is about as much effort as you will get from me till it is more feature complete, this video will probably be obsolete in a month or so as features get added.

Hi Jabbers! Is this video still valid with updates to the aircraft? What I'm really looking for are complete in-game tutorials for the NOOB. As much as I paid for this, I should get some hand holding don't you think? I was in the Marines from 1980 to 1984 and for most of that time my main duty station was MCAS Cherry Point, NC. I have very good friends that served in VMA-231. (I was a simple grunt in the Air-Wing myself as a combat Marine Hawk anti-aircraft missile crewman in the 3rd LAAM BN.) When I saw that DCS had this aircraft, I had to have one to fly myself with VMA-231 livery. They have made an effort at DCS to include some training, but it's woefully inadequate.

Well it’s early access still so things still being made. AFAIK this is mostly right, I think there is alignment now and the DECM switch has to be flipped (far back left)

Sea alignment still is a little buggy though afaik. (sometimes the 00:00:00 would just flash and flash and the 2nd timer with countdown would just not appear)

DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart

PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013

DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. (After all there's enough hostility on the internet already which really doesn't help anyone. Thanks.)

That sounds like a parking brake not being engaged.

Thanks. But do we (DCS community) actually know whether the parking brake HAS to be engaged to permit alignment in a real Harrier (any real Harrier pilot here?)

Former Harrier techy here. Parking brake must be engaged for alignment to commence. Otherwise the timer just flashes.

Basically it's how the airplane knows it's not moving.
