Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 All is in the title : the clouds are bright at night in the 1.5.8 (15 December update) ! By the way. I flew in the Viggen last night in the 2.2. There is the same problem for night flying, and this since years : the ground is bright ! At Night !? How can we see the ground at night without any lighting source ? The FLIR of the Harrier is just useless because you can perfectly see the ground. But i'm pretty sure it has been reported since a long time. Screenshots : Wait, it doesn't work. I can't attach my screenshots, I don't know why. Anyway. Cheers.
Quetzalkoatl Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Was about to make that bug report  But will help with screenshots.
Coug4r Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 They were black before, this might be a little bright even with a full moon in the sky. Maybe something in between would be nice depending on the moon and maybe even multiple cloud layers. - If man were meant to fly he'd be filled with helium.
Mustang Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 What graphics card is being used here? This looks like the kind of bug that would affect an Intel based card.
Spetz Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) I have it too on an nvidia 1080ti. If I recall, after about 20mins into a mission they went dark by themselves. Newest GPU drivers and no mods. Edited December 18, 2017 by Spetz
Shadow KT Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 (edited) Hmm, I was trying to build a CAT III ILS mission, but the fog turned out to be white as snow during the night. I thought hmm, I don't remember it being like this. Maybe it is a Fog bug, but it is the same with the clouds I'll try fast forwarding the time to see if anything changes P.S After an hour of fast forward (in-game time) it is still the same BTW, there is some weird stuff going on, neither imgur nor the forums attachments or a third side I tried uploading the screenshot to work. Back on the topic, I tried changing seasons, time of day, weather effects, winds, thickness, Dynamic/Static, nothing worked Edited December 18, 2017 by Shadow KT 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Shadow KT Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 It seems like it really depends on the clock. If it is early morning e.g. September 6:45 in the morning they look alright, but if you move the clock to 23:45. FLUORESCENT WHITE ! Shadow KT Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Can anyone confirm and/or reproduce ? 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days

blueskunk Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 still bugged in 2.5? http://the68thaggressorssquadron.blogspot.com/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BigBadVuk Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 I can confirm as well, just had it happen during Ka-50 night campaign missions. Im using R9 390x, latest drivers, also tried separate scenarios, and yeah same situation, on all maps. EDIT I dont use that advanced shading, just HDR.
Lordfacker84 Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Confirmed. In 2.5 Clouds and fog sucks ...with a density over 8/9 mixed with fog the sky become a blue swimming pool even at night time
cuervo111 Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 This is still wrong. During bad weather and when totally dark, the top of the clouds are bright white. They are appropiately dark below the cloud cover. Any news on fixes? It seems so out of place!
