philstyle Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Hey WW2 pilots, Can someone please confirm/ check their own game to see if the "sound radar" has reduced for them in 2.2. It seems like it has for me, but I cannot tell if this is due to my own system, placebo effect, or if it has actually been adjusted in some way. Thanks! Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 "Sound Radar" ? What are you talking about Phill ? Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
DefaultFace Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Don’t think so. P-51 and spits still hear you sneaking up on them. Although with Jafas sound mod it seems to be reduced. 9./JG27 "If you can't hit anything, it's because you suck. If you get shot down, it's because you suck. Reflected Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 "Sound Radar" ? What are you talking about Phill ? It's when you cannot sneak up on anyone in MP because they hear your engine from 2-300 yards, thus alerting them to take evasive action. Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
philstyle Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 "Sound Radar" ? What are you talking about Phill ? Sorry, I figured the WW2-players would know what I was on about. As others have said, it is the fact that other aircraft can be heard quite clearly over the top of one's own engine and a distance of 200-300m in flight, even when they are behind you. The practical result is that this winds up being an early-warning system, aka "sound radar". On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/philstylenz Storm of War WW2 server website: https://stormofwar.net/
DD_Fenrir Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Hi Phil I'm finding that having the "Hear like in Helmet" audio option checked I can barely hear other a/c in my vicinity but they are detectable; with it off they are audible but does not feel quite as apparent as prior patches.

Solty Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Hi Phil I'm finding that having the "Hear like in Helmet" audio option checked I can barely hear other a/c in my vicinity but they are detectable; with it off they are audible but does not feel quite as apparent as prior patches. It was always like that but its optional and destroys quality of sound design. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]In 21st century there is only war and ponies.
