hitman Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 And I shot down Amelia Airheart (however thats spelled). She and her navvie bailed and I picked em up on some lone deserted island, I killed the navvie and made her my slave. She eventually was brainwashed into believing she kidnapped Lindbergs kid. Nowadays she just serves me beer with a bit of lime and the margaritas without that fuggin' salt around the lip. Shes my biatch.

Mizzy Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I fly paper aeroplanes, does that make me a pilot ;) My life is too boring to talk about and I know the square root of nothing about the technical aspects of aviation. Thats why everyone ignores me :( Mizzy.

AndyHill Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Believe it or not, but in reality I'm an information processing science student. Yeah, I know it sounds too cool to be true, but I'm the real deal. To top it off, I'm actually sort of lazy and dumb and nobody wants to hire me. I'm that cool. You may think that I'm just a regular fighter pilot writing this on a laptop somewhere after just smoking six MiGs, but I couldn't care less. I'm so far above everything else that I just look down my nose at people who have to risk their lives zipping across the sky in noisy metal boxes. Oh, BTW, I don't believe ANYONE is a fighter pilot until they offer me a ride in a jet. __________________________________________________________________ Lock on MUST have a dynamic campaign system, proper toe-brakes and a host of real pilots posting on its forums My blog full of incoherent ramblings on random subjects: https://anttiilomaki.wordpress.com/

FanBoy2006.01 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I am a real fighter pilot and here's the proof. This picture was taken just after I downed a couple of MiG 28's somewhere over the Mediterranean. Those MiG 28's just can't do some inverted, negative-g or something stuff. The enemy denied the incident, of course.

leafer Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 5. That hot pilot will get the feeling of 20Gs if he would even try to follow me on a race-bike :D (I am training with the race-bike for about 2.5 hours daily and for the last 20 year (about 17000km/year) have won several amateur bike races too) You mean like Ducati kind or Schwinn? I'm into bikes, too, and will show pic if I had a camera but I don't...let just say you'll die laughing if you did see it. :D I love motorcycles and mountain bikes, but can't afford them. I hate those chopper crap. See them from time to time out here, just a bunch of wannabe tough guys. Wish I had something decent so I can smoke their asses. edit: I just noticed I have 3 rep...how did that happened? I don't come here that often and when I do, I have nothing useful to say. teh Starting to feel like a black sheep around here until I saw that. :D ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
leafer Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Not trying to start anything but MrMudd sounded familiar so I did a search and came up with this. Wow... nice guy ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
STRIKER Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Not trying to start anything but MrMudd sounded familiar so I did a search and came up with this. Wow... nice guy Mudd is a good guy. He is no longer flying A10's for the military and last time I heard was flying a bus back and forth over the Pacific. His knowledge of the A10 and even F15 truly immense and if ED listened to him he could have helped in more ways than ever but it wasnt to be. He was also involved in the A-10C model before he got out of the guard. Either way he knows his stuff. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Anytime Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 nice bike, here's mine no pedals though: ps All these guys who claim to be fighter pilots/ex have to do is post a little pic, but not many do. Speaking of the real deal, what ever happened to Sean Long Wags?
Guest IguanaKing Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Mudd is a good guy. His knowledge of the A10 and even F15 truly immense and if ED listened to him he could have helped in more ways than ever but it wasnt to be. He was also involved in the A-10C model before he got out of the guard. Either way he knows his stuff. Ahhh...the plot thickens. So, it looks like there was a conflict, feelings got hurt, and now we know both sides of the story. I don't know who is telling the whole truth here, but that post of his from almost 2 years ago certainly seems like it could have stirred up a hornet's nest. It would certainly be motivation enough for them to dislike him and maybe say things to discredit him. On the other hand, he could be saying things out of anger as well...but I doubt that to be entirely the case. The F-15 and A-10 in the game have had GLARING problems that have never gotten fixed, and you don't have to be an IRL pilot of either one to know that. You just have to know Western avionics. Yet...the problems are still there, so it kinda makes Mudd's story look feasible. I have no personal involvement in this, nor do I know any of the people involved, personally. But, just playing devil's advocate, it makes me question the motivation of both sides of that argument.
MBot Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Wait a minute, does Wags means THAT that Mr. Mudd, former owner of Biohazcentral and advisor (?) for Lock On ? The F-15 and A-10 in the game have had GLARING problems that have never gotten fixed, and you don't have to be an IRL pilot of either one to know that. You just have to know Western avionics. I don't want to open a can of worms, just for the records. As far as I know the largest junk of development resources of Lock On has been spent on WESTERN avionics. The russian fighters avionics have been pretty much left untouched from Flanker 2.5. Only with 1.1 have the avionics of the 27/29 reached the SAME level. Sorry, that was OT.

The only thing that makes the A-10s HSI "Western" is that it looks that way, its behavior is still very much "Eastern" though. ;)

The only thing that makes the A-10s HSI "Western" is that it looks that way, its behavior is still very much "Eastern" though. ;) It's neither real eastern, don't you think ? At least I would expect a lot more functionality out of it ( wich we will finaly see in the HSI of the Ka-50 ). While the western avionics are far from beeing perfect, we have to realise that the eastern are neither. Rather we have to accept the general avionics depth of Lock On 1.1 as for what it is, for both "sides".
Guest IguanaKing Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I'm talking about basic functionality though, I don't expect it to be perfect. BTW...the HSI in the Vanilla Su-25 behaves pretty much like the HSIs in the L-39s I have worked on and flown in, so they HAVE done a good job there. I can't fault them on that, they're a Russian company, and it is what their developers are accustomed to. But Western avionics just behave differently, not necessarily better or worse, just differently. However, with all that being said, perhaps the HSI behavior in the LOMAC A-10 is just there to compensate for the fact that we have no control over the HDG and CRS knobs. We also don't have control over slave/free mode, or card slew. The A-10 armament is still porked though...and MANY people, including me, have been squawking for years for them to fix that. Still not fixed, except through community mods.

Last I heard he was living in the Salt Lake City area, had to sell most of his computer stuff and was running a Machine shop. And that comes from my personal conversations with him over ICQ and from a personal friend who met him, bought one of his computers, and said he reminded him more of Jethro Bodine then an ex-fighter pilot. I too have SERIOUS doubts that Mudd is who he said he was. Too many inconsistencies in his story. And that comes from personally knowing him and talking with him. Rhen Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Damn... I thought some of the info in this thread was pretty good, expecially the stuff I posted  If the only way y'all will believe my info is to see a pic of me, well here it is: The steely eyed guy on the left is me. The one in the middle that won't keep her mouth shut is my sister. She's talking to my little brother on the right. I'd introduce you to her, but she can be a real bitch at times. :smilewink:
