it seems the flir doesn't work probably in 2.5, the vehicles that I spot are not bright enough, or am I wrong ? Atm I cant identify any targets through the forest...

That is interesting; I watched a video that Ralfi posted yesterday showing the A-10C targeting pod FLIR, and the vehicles appeared to stand out pretty well. Something appears to be amiss here.

I found the flir is amazing now, I can actually spot vehicles now easily, are you sure your using the flir mode in the tpod?

edit: just saw the spoilers now

He's using both BH and WH, check the spoilers.

The best part of 2.5 is not really the brightness of the vehicles but the lack of that old ubiquitous background noise. If you were used to the old FLIR then spotting in 2.5 is super easy.

even through the forest in 2.5? I mean they are easy to spot, if they stand on an empty field, but not in a forest, because they have near the same color brightness as the enviroment and I think thats not correct in 2.5 at this point but I don't know how the tpod in rl is working, so I just guess how it should be :P

Hasn't there been talk about how FLIR (and aircraft monitor outputs in general) are affected by the gamma settings? Might be why.

Yes, the radar screen of the Viggen was pretty unreadable for me before I adjusted my gamma values. Might be the same problem here.

He was also playing with winter textures, it still seems to be about contrast and there were no changes to the FLIR system.

So if units don't contrast against their background FLIR won't be much help currently.

so there is no chance for me to "fix" this problem ?

Well, have you tried to adjust your gamma setting?

For me after the flir got that green filter it was useless gecause is couldnt see anything anymore. Its one blurry green picture. Same with the Mavs, Dmt and TGP feed but not as bad as the flir

I've got similar issues with the Harrier FLIR and HUD projections... Either too dark, or way too white. I brought it up as an issue with 2.2 and apparently my issue is to do with the shaders. ED is aware.

Deferred shading off fixes it, but makes the sim look not so good.

TGP FLIR looks great for me in 2.5. Targets really pop

could you send us a picture of that? I just want to see, how it looks for you

I'm sitting at the airport to catch a flight to Palm Beach for the next 5 days, so you'd probably be better off having someone else do that. Sorry!

I have deferred shading but no MSAA. FLIR is working but dark. Should be better when we get the possibility to change the settings like in the A10C.

It does work with DS and MSAA (tested both 8x and 4x). I have posted a pic in the TPOD thread and yes, targets are now really easy to spot (ofc it's not perfect yet but a very welcome improvement over previous versions).

Controls are there, although not simulated yet.
