Nealius Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Since I do not have the 1.5 Open Beta, I downloaded the 2.5 Open Beta from the DCS website. After copying files from my 1.5 Stable branch, the updater attempts to start the torrent download but gets stuck. Here's the lines of the autoupdate.log pointing to some errors: INFO : Copied 26003060999 bytes in 31974 files INFO : To download: 21953025516 bytes in 3100 files STATUS: Preparing to torrent update... INFO : 3 parts to fetch INFO : Added DCS-2.5.0.13818.311-WORLD.arch_x86_64-update-0.torrent: 79.9 MB INFO : Rejecting DCS-2.5.0.13818.311-WORLD.arch_x86_64-base-0.torrent: slack/need = 49.9/0.0 ERROR: Conection to server 'srv7update.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Error in the HTTP2 framing layer ERROR: Conection to server 'srv7update.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Error in the HTTP2 framing layer As my ISP throttles torrents anyway, is there a way I can force HTTP download? Or is HTTP screwed as well, since the log says it can't connect?
Nealius Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 Mine started working about an hour ago. Took forever to connect.
scotth6 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Same problem for me today. I started the update yesterday, but had to shut down the PC before it was finished. Today, I am getting stuck on "Preparing to Torrent Update. Have tried 3 times, around 20 minutes each try before terminating and starting again, but same issue. I guess it may be due to servers being overloaded? Cheers,
Oesau Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Same issue here scotth6.... only have 20% remaining as of this morning and now can't get it to start up again (stuck at the preparing to torrent update message)
guurali Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Same here, stucks on Preparing torrent update.... any solution? Enviado desde mi SM-G930F mediante Tapatalk
Devrim Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Kill the application because there is no Abort or Cancel functions, and do a Repair. It will be OK. I did in this way. scotth6 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Mine successfully completed the torrent update today. I haven't tested the installation but the update completed. Not sure what the issue was yesterday, but it's gone now. Cheers,
QuiGon Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 As my ISP throttles torrents anyway, is there a way I can force HTTP download? Or is HTTP screwed as well, since the log says it can't connect? It should say on the updater window: "Click Cancel to switch to HTTP downloading". Does it not? Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Nealius Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 That's only after it starts a torrent download. I want to bypass torrents completely, thus circumventing the "preparing to torrent update" delay.

I want to bypass torrents completely, thus circumventing the "preparing to torrent update" delay. I see. Don't know if this is possible :dunno: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
ED Team c0ff Posted February 2, 2018 ED Team Posted February 2, 2018 Please, try the new updater 2.6.24.37 - hopefully it fixes the HTTP/2 problem. Dmitry S. Baikov @ Eagle Dynamics LockOn FC2 Soundtrack Remastered out NOW everywhere - https://band.link/LockOnFC2.
Flamin_Squirrel Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 I've got the 2.6.24.37 updater and I have this same issue. Really need a fix for this.
