S77th-konkussion Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 No, Sir- nothing like that ever happened to me. I can't imagine anything on the TIR itself overheating. Perhaps the person's monitor was getting too hot. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

Toady Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I think there were very rare cases of this happening on TIR4. In all two I read about on Natural Points forum they were replaced. Read to bother hands their on time much too with people only that bit little the.
Maximus_G Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I have read about some folks complaining that their TrackIR tends to overheat while in use / stby. Can somebody confirm that there might be an overheating problem with TIR ? Yes, there is such a problem. It doesn't happen often, but there are numerous cases, and all that i've seen were with TIR4. Mine too. The reasons are not known well. Solution is simple: http://forum.sukhoi.ru/showpost.php?p=826834&postcount=145
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Well, I’ve never had any heat problem with my TIR-2 and TIR-3. However, one of our squad members is heaving heat problem with his TIR-4. I sure will point this thread to him. Thermaltake Kandalf LCS | Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R | Etasis ET750 (850W Max) | i7-920 OC to 4.0 GHz | Gigabyte HD5850 | OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 2000 | 2 X 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD in RAID 0 | ASUS VW266H 25.5" | LG Blue Ray 10X burner | TIR 5 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Logitech G930 | Saitek Pro flight rudder pedals | Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Kindred Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Well my TrackIr 3 does act kind of funny sometimes, especially if I had running for while. Kind of aggravating actually lol. If related to heat, not sure, I’ll test it, will put it in the freezer lol. Not that I will be any good, unless I put myself in there lol.:megalol:
SuperKungFu Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 my trackir 4 feels kinda warm after a while of playing but i don't play it long enough for it to stay in that heat. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Maybe if the unit is sitting on top of hot monitor and exposed to sunlight (not from the front side of course as then the thing wouldn't work) and it gets too much heat? PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Maximus_G Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Maybe if the unit is sitting on top of hot monitor and exposed to sunlight (not from the front side of course as then the thing wouldn't work) and it gets too much heat? Not this case, it's the main chip inside heating too much.
CharlieMike24 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 My TIR4's just died on me. I wonder if this is what's happened? Hoping they can replace it soon.... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
