In 1.5.8 the difference between oldest modules and newer ones cokpits is not that much, but in 2.5 a-10c (and ka-50) cockpits look awful compared to newer ones (for example the L-39), expecially in VR. Is it scheduled to renew a-10c cockpit? I've read that for ka-50 is...

It is still very old and could probably benefit from updates to take advantage of the newer graphics of the base sim.

I've got Ricardo's one, and it is a wonderful work, but:

1. I've not tested in 2.5 but I imagine it should have the same illumination problems of default textures, since it is a mod of it.

2. I don't like the worn and washed-out look.

So it would be great since ED could give us a new cockpit, developed having in mind 2.5 update.

It will be done for ka-50, so why not for a-10c?

To be honest I do not need a totally brand new cockpit, but the old one, with deferred shading on, has something weird, it appears all black and flat and some gauges are barely visible, despite the gamma setting (for example fuel gauge test button); I think this must be updated. With an update of the existing cockpit or with a brand new version of it, I don't know, but something should be done.

Can we have a-10c updated cockpit textures?

Would be cool to have a retextured PBR'd cockpit for one of ED's signature products for sure. They've obviously got a million things going on, perhaps it can be added to the list for the future.

It seems to me that the time to have done this was BEFORE the change was made to remove the option to use forward rendering.

I think it's not a stretch to suggest that adapting all the old cockpits to look correct with deferred shading will be a lot of work. Also not a stretch to suggest that the decision to remove the forward rendering option was made because the F-18 and PG terrain were designed and developed only to work with DS. Of course this was never stated before release of those modules.

I feel rather sorry for 3rd party developers who pre-released modules designed to work with the old engine and now find themselves forced to update all their textures to work with the new one. The unplanned work and expense must be considerable.

Wags has already stated that the Hog cockpit is being reworked. It is not that the existing textures are bad, it is that there was a huge drop in quality when the Hog was used with deferred shading, this especially in VR.

Using DS in 2.0+ and going back to 1.5 showed the difference to be very very marked with a huge drop in image sharpness compared to 1.5.

Having being spoiled by the hornet cockpit, it is a very rare occasion when I fly the hog these days, which is a pity, it is a wonderful aircraft.

It's a wonderful aircraft but you're not flying it because the cockpit isn't DS/PBR ready? :D

What can I say. I'm attracted to bling like a moth to a candle. :)
