Skatezilla, have been thinking, (this is not a request, simply a question to see If is feasible, so maybe can be modded in the future).

Would be possible to have a 3d model that encompasses both, a fuel tank and the refuelling probe? So when you load the drop tank the refueling probe is added too? And would be possible to have the refuelling probe fixed so is not jettisoned If we drop the tank?

That's the dilemma right now.

 

Wingtip Tanks are cosmetic, the weight in fuel is not usable as the pylon isnt set for it.

 

And they Jettison with stores.

 

Same thing for the Refueling Probe, even if modeled as something that's not droppable, there's no way to attach it to the model outside of stores.

 

So You'd lose a pylon for the sake of cosmetics.

So You'd lose a pylon for the sake of cosmetics.

 

If linked to droptanks no, it will be a 3d part of the droptank. Of a conventional, functional one (or two If we use the wing ones). In many missions, mainly A-G I never jetison my tanks. As trying to simulate a "poor" country AF, each droptank is only dropped If not other alternative, even Israel changed his policy from dropping when enemies were detected, to drop only in case of contact.

But yes, cosmetics only.

I was wondering if you were still working on the mod, I'm the new Virtual Turkish Stars leader, and our mod broke on the last updates like most of the mods... Do you think you could update it ?

Just so you guys know, I am aware that this mod isnt working in the current DCS.

 

I am finalizing some tweaks after rebuilding my system, and getting everything back up and running.

 

So I've:

-Smoothed the shape a little, just to fix some polygon alignments.

-Revamped Panel Lines, Weathering and Dirt Layers Etc

-Added Updated Speculars

-Added Updated Roughmets

-Added Updated Normals

-Still Working on Coloring and Splat Noise

-Still Working on Paint Chipping/Weathering

 

(I Could Add the Lights to them, but You would not be able to toggle them on and off.)

More Tweaking:

 

Really Debating if I want to Double the Map Resolution to get smaller panel lines as 1 PX wide is still too thick, and if I do I can combine Left and Right Tanks onto a Single Square Map.

But I dont think the VRAM Hit that it would cause is justifiable in this situation.

 

Hopefully some baking and some love I should have it done and re-packed to distribute by tomorrow night (gotta clean up the PSD as well.)

I may expand this this to other items down the line,

But they will all be cosmetic as well.

 

I will also improve the shape detail and textures as soon as I can get my hands on some High enough resolution images for panel lines, ports, stencils etc.

 

Also looking into a way to turn the tip lights on and off with the nav lights somehow. (that or I enable them and leave them on, just dim so they arent noticeable in day/flight).

The only way to make them consumable is if BST Allowed Fuel to be used from those stations in their flight model/fuel systems.

The Tanks are done, havent gotten around to working on the refueling probe and other items yet.
