I do not plan on updating these specific items in 2022. Right now, my focus is on completing the first iteration of the AH-64 guide, then the Mirage F1, then adding recently implemented features for the Mi-24, F-16, and Mosquito... and do a bit of maintenance on the F-5 guide. I do not plan on updating the Hornet guide for a bit. I would still need to add stuff like ACLS and TALDs... which are very low on my priority list at the moment.

Hey guys, I'm struggling with the mapping of controls. I'm using a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.

My questions:

1.) I cannot find the "HARM Target Sequence /RAID / FLIR Button" option in the DCS controls - did get a different name?

2.) What about the "DISPENSE SWITCH (AFT)" on the grey button on the right-hand side of the stick -  is the plane supposed to shoot flares when I press the button? Or is it some auto-mode that shoots flares automatically in dangerous situations?

3.) Nothing mto be mapped on the lower grey switch on the right-hand side of the throttle? (the one below the airbrake)

THX, keep up the brilliant work and best regards,

Mike

@mike.roper

1. It's listed as 'RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button.'

2. 'Dispense Switch - Aft' will perform the following:

  • If the DISPENSER switch on the center panel behind the stick is set to BYPASS, then Dispense Switch - Aft will dispense flares.
  • If the DISPENSER switch on the center panel behind the stick is set to ON, then Dispense Switch - Aft will initiate the selected Manual Program (set from the EW page).

3. Not sure exactly which switch you're referring to here. Are you talking about on the actual Hornet throttle or the TM Warthog throttle?

Thanks mate, #1 and #2 work fine after your advice!

On #3, I mean the buttons on the TM Throttle. On page 10 of Chuck's guide, there is an arrow going to the lower grey dual switch on the throttle, but no description box what should be mapped to it. So, I was wondering whether something may have gone lost in the pdf?

I'm a little late on this, but just incase you didn't figure this out, look to page #11 and #26. Comms, Speed Brake, Dispense and cage/uncage are the 4 and it looks like there is no Dispense on the page 10 drawing.

The Guide was updated on August 14. I didn't find any change log, anyone knows what's new in it?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just found it, it's the datalink...

Hey Chuck, first, a massive thanks for these invaluable resources you produce!! I wondered, I use them most on my ipad and I know there are direct links to the main sections, but how easy would it be to direct link the sub sections? Its a helluva lot of scrolling to find pages inbetween the main sections.....

Cheers!

Hi Guys, is it just me, or is there something wrong with the Chusk's Guides homepage? The preview pages do not appear, and I can't download anything, some "security error unknown issuer" warning pops up. Anyone?...

Looks ok to me, make sure you use Google Chrome. I heard some users had issues with FIrefox.
