Heater741 Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Hey y'all, Doesn't the Hornet have a light on the refueling boom? I tried to hook up with the tanker (S3) on a no moon night, got ready to pre-contact, and I couldn't see a thing! The tanker itself had position lights but they are very dim. I suppose I could just crank up the NVGs, but still, a boom light would be cool. Cheers and...FLY NAVY!

Eldur Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 At least you can nicely trim your AoA on-speed then But I wouldn't want to refuel in afterburner (tanker speed usually is 200 - 275kts indicated)...

ebabil Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 release flares constantly or hit the tanker with gun very lightly, it will provide enough light.
