thanks

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

anyone of you had CTD in Harrier on Gulf? Or was that veeery rarely occuring CTD that I had earlier?

We need someone to do this using the full procedure (i.e. inserting all data from scratch).

This isn't a guide for the correct alignment procedure but may be of temporary use until there's better.

Just for clarification, is this "new" alignment procedure that requires lat/long/magv after the initial INS alignment bug? I'm still on the first installment of 2.5.3 and my INS aligns just fine with "Stored Heading Only" and I don't have to mess with coordinates.

The full procedure arrive with SINS (deck cable on the tarawa)

go in the options and put yourself in unaligned

Yes, the MVAR input bug was squashed and unaligned aircraft can be aligned in the latest Open Beta.

Yes, that's the mode I use by default unless testing.

Awesome. Now I just need MVAR data for NTTR.....and does MVAR change by year? I noticed ED modeled moon phases for different years and my missions aren't always set in the 2010s.

So "instant alignment" still doesn't work? Is it a client and server setting now or only client setting?

I do not understand your question.

There are three INS alignment settings:

1. UNALIGNED. You have to input present position data, etc and align the INS.

2. SAVED HEADING ONLY. You still have to align the INS, but PP data is already in the system and you can bypass one of the steps. It has a faster alignment period.

3. PREALIGNED. The INS is aligned from the get go.

Yes, prealigned I mean. The question, the 2 scenarios:

1. a server admin for a "normal" server wants players to be able to instant align OR do realistic alignment, free choice for every single Harrier pilot.

2. a hardcore-realism multiplayer-server admin wants ALL Harrier pilots having to align (taking minutes...).

Is scenario 2 possible currently? Can server admins "enforce" a boolean (for example) "instant alignment allowed" = true or false ? (In the mission setting somewhere?)

Just a question to know what it possible currently and if there can be "hardcore" multiplayer servers where every Harrier pilot must do the real procedure, or if everyone can always freely choose. I think both server-scenarios (settings) should be (made) possible, as I think (iirc?) with the M2000 module its the same, server admin can also in mission editor disable permission for instant alignment? (Not sure about that though)

There is no server side option to enforce alignment.

Will a server side enforcement be added at some point?

exactly what we are asking for :) (the possibility for server admin to decide to force or not)

MVAR is for:

AV-8B+ Gyro align when doing MANSEA

TACAN data

Waypoint, target point data

Why is anyone entering MVAR for alignment? That's not in the procedure. The airplane is gunna find true north by alignment and magnetic north with MAD so why enter the difference manually? So confused.
