Kev2go Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 (edited) So why is the walleye being included within list of planned weapons? this is a Vietnam vintage weapon, that would have only really been employed with the F/A18A when it was one of few guided munitions available at its first service years. By 2000s This weapons wouldn't be in service anymore on a F/A18C unlike the Aim7M and Aim9M series which despite having been largely outclassed by newer missiles, are still some around in inventory and are occasionally carried in training exercises or are deployed In lower threat combat environments like in Syria. QuiGon Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I'm really looking forward to the Walleye. It's a very interesting weapon imho. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
fragal Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Same It's basically a non powered maverick, the cool stuff comes with the datalink pod without it it's fire and forget with the datalink pod you can keep the targeting camera active and update target and flight path in real time as it's falling it's pretty cool.
