Yes, this is what the AI will use in regards to bullseye. Mission designers should set this bulls as a waypoint in the sequence and note it in the briefing so the player can set the A/A waypoint to this waypoint.

Does it have to be in the sequence though? Can you not create a waypoint, out of sequence, say WP15 and set this as the A/A waypoint. The location of this additional out of sequence WP would be the bullseye as noted from the ME in the normal way.

The waypoint you set as bullseye doesn’t have to be in a sequence. Although currently all waypoints created in the ME are assigned to a sequence in the DCS Hornet. Hopefully one day in the ME/Combatflite we can assign the 59waypoints and 9markpoints to individual locations without being part of a sequence (more like the real life data cartridge)

Thanks for the reply WAGS. However, I'm still unclear on this point.

A bullseye is a theater asset for all aircraft to reference, assigned by a commander (mission maker in ME in our case) and changed as required.

It should have a separate entry apart from waypoints and markpoints. It shouldn't get muddled in with them, could be inadvertently changed with waypoint updates during flights etc.

Early days yet, we'll see how it develops.

It is indeed like this. As Wags pointed, it is a waypoint (not clear if it must be in the sequence, but if it is added through the ME then it would be part of the sequence)

You are right, it can't be deleted or changed by the pilot, but you can set it back. It is the limitation the of the technology of that time

there can be multiple bulls-eyes (real world)

When the bullseye is set in the ME, it is always put in as a waypoint in the A-10C automatically. So, I guess it will be the same for the Hornet.

This brings me to a question I've had for some time... Are airfields and IPs (set in the Editor) stored in the F/A-18s cartridge like they are on the A-10C ?

Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days

yeah, that's true actually!

Wags, mentionned that it is up to the ME editor to set it as a waypoint for the F18. I hope they can do it the way it is done on the A10 instead and not leave it to the mercy of the mission designer. They often dont set any flight plan at all on most MP servers.

If the mission designer didn’t do it, make a manual waypoint instead.
Wow, how didn't I think of that. Great contribution to the thread :)
