Little bit of trivia. In that last photo, the Mi-26 is transporting a Tu-134 airframe (mock up?) to serve as a monument at the Chisinau airport (Moldova). I was there earlier this year for my vacation, visiting family. Here it is installed:

Mi-26 is a unique machine. I've seen it few times, right next to it our Ka-32 looks like a baby toy. It's really cool to watch it's main rotor spinning- 8 blades rotating at 120 RPM, you can easily count them. The main rotor seems so slow that makes you wonder how come this thing lifts 20 tons of load.

But it's rather expensive "in use"... Especially now...
