It's actually illegal in germany to do pre-orders with vague release dates, https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-07-16-vague-release-dates-for-pre-orders-banned-in-germany

But Heatblur is not based in germany so I dont think its valid for them.

21st March, or earlier when they manage isn't vague. ...and yes, German law, is only working for a company with a subsidiary office in Germany. EU law applies in the EU, though.

And they offered to refund anyone who is not happy with the pre-order condition...? So I really would see how an argument would look like "They offered me my money back, but I want them to get sued and sentenced to give me my money back, because...” :dunno:

Oh no don't get me wrong, I'm not unhappy with HB and nor do I think HB are being unreasonable. My only view was that agreeing that 'Winter' is a bit vague and they should have gone with a date to start with. That is all.

Steam forced them to pick a date, so they just entered one that was within their date range.

I asked that myself too. It clearly said in bold orange text "Available 1xth February 2019" Don't remember the exact date (But I think it said 15th), I was just "Let's make it quick" and just pressed every button just so its bought and I can't take my money back :lol:

There are two dates for the end of winter, depending on which one you want to go by.

 

Like I said it doesn't really bother me, but they weren't as clear as they could have been. That is all.

What?! No, there is one date that is subject to minor variation year to year.

This year winter ends and spring begins on March 20 at precisely 21:58 UTC, also known as earth’s Vernal Equinox.

There are two dates: astronomical and meteorological. This is what I found when I looked for the answer and had no idea which was the correct one. Maybe that makes me an idiot, but as I've said several times already, a date is far better as it removes any ambiguity.

Well I learned something. It looks like you’re technically correct, which is the best kind of correct of course. Though from what I’ve now read the meteorological seasons are almost exclusively a statistical tool used for consistency in record keeping by a single profession. Even being peripherally associated with meteorology via professional aviation I’d never heard of their use.

In regards to the F-14 release I believe HB has stated, possibly in this very thread, that they regard end of winter as March 20th.

They have acknowledged this so many times, it is hard to believe that anyone following the issue of a release date could still be debating, or have any question concerning the issue.

A meant a calendar that is used by humanity to align things like businesses, military operations, science research... the normal everyday calendar you would relate to, when looking for a date.
