TLTeo Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I was referring to the fact that its release date was announced as "winter 2019" and there were plenty of arguments about what the word winter means. Some people assumed winter means Christmas, not the interval of time between December 21st and March 21st.
Donut Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I was referring to the fact that its release date was announced as "winter 2019" and there were plenty of arguments about what the word winter means. Some people assumed winter means Christmas, not the interval of time between December 21st and March 21st. With DCS, I find it is best to assume the latest date of an announced release window. For the F-16, early Autumn would be mid-late October at the latest. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
Airhunter Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Let's put it this way, has anything in DCS history (especially on ED's side) ever not gotten delayed? Samw is going to happen with the F-16. If not, it's gonna be a hot mess on release...

_mu110_ Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Are Greek/Turkish AF F-16s blk. 50 with CCIP? I believe the Greeks have a mixture of Blk 30, 50, and 52, but I don't know whether their 50 is identical to ours. Turks have also block 30, 40 and 50, with the older 30s updated to CCIP. Again, not sure if theirs is exactly the same as ours. Check out my skins and mods on the User Files.
mvsgas Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) Are Greek/Turkish AF F-16s blk. 50 with CCIP? No, They are different from each other and from USAF F-16C block 50 after CCIP. They all have similar but different capabilities. Weapons, Radars, ECM/RWR, cockpit lighting, landing gear, cockpit arrangement, etc. are different. Only USAF F-16 block 40/42/50/52 went through the CCIP update. Thanks, seems like the Bulgarian AF will have most modern variant of F-16 in the region, they will buy last version of Viper - blk.70 after 1-2 years. How different is F-16 blk. 70 compared to our F-16CM blk. 50? ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
mvsgas Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 We will have to wait for one to be built. Harker Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Greeks have Block 30, 50, 52+ and 52+ Adv. The Block 50 ones were acquired in 1997 and I'm not sure of their upgrade path since then. They do receive in-house modifications though. Last I heard Lockheed Martin was contracted to upgrade the 50, 52+ and 52+ Adv. to the F-16V configuration, with the AN/APG-83 AESA radar, a big pedestal MFCD etc. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. The Falcon Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I'm pretty sure this would become the most modified DCS module ever, if only it were possible:(
DennisGR Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 What is plan for Greece F-16 https://www.dsca.mil/major-arms-sales/government-greece-upgrade-f-16-aircraft-f-16-block-v-configuration We decided to upgrade the 52M and 52+ fleet (84 total). First a/c testbed will go to the US in 2020. Deliveries will start 2021 onward and will end in 2027 or sooner. There is a big possibility of upgrading the Block 50s to 52Ms by using spare parts.
