When I press the space bar in training to advance to the next selection nothing happens. It only happens in the A10 training missions. Space bar works in the training missions of the other planes I have.

Wondering if anyone has run up against this and if so how did you correct it. Just got the A10 so eager to learn it and I have found doing the training missions works best for me.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am also new to the A10 and just completed the training. I found the space bar to be finicky, but not broken. Sometimes after pressing it, it would take another minute or two before the lesson continued. Just press it and wait until you reach the next mission sequencing point. I never had it take more than 1 to 2 minutes, so if that’s the case then perhaps it is broken or you are flying in the wrong direction. If you circle back around to the previous waypoint, it may trigger the next sequence.

Thanks for the suggestion GTFreeFlyer, but no luck. I am on the ground trying to do a cold start but after waiting for 5 minutes for a response after hitting the space bar I closed it out.

Going to DL the repair tool as I also cannot move the throttle, will see what happens after it run it.

As a real pilot, sometimes when I check in with ground or clearance it also take 5 minutes!

Not sure what your issue is. I’m new to DCS altogether and it just worked fine for me from the get-go. I just purchased the 3 Maple Leaf campaigns since they are on sale now so I can continue my training. I felt quite unsatisfied with the in-game training. It was enough to tease me, but nothing really to learn from. I’ve learned a lot more from YouTube. After I was done with training and YouTubing, I tried a mission and got smoked. There’s still plenty to learn before hopping in on the action. I’m having fun doing it though. As long as I’m flying I’m happy. Don’t rush the training. Good luck.

I dunno what was the exact point in which training missions for any of you guys, but sometimes you need to do something or wait for some parameter to match before it starts looking for your space bar input. Timing can be a bit off sometimes, but if you redo what the IP said to do, I think it should work. No guarantees, just suggesting.

try pulling the trigger

This!

I believe internally the game actually looks for a trigger press. In case the trigger has been bound to anything other than the space bar, that other key needs to be pressed. The trigger on the joystick/HOTAS should also work.

Old script looked for trigger command. It said "press space bar" only because space bar was default keyboard bind for trigger command. If they were different it was important to press trigger.

If you open training in editor you will see X: START LISTEN COMMAND (554, 4, 1 -1000000, 100000, 0)

"554" must be trigger.

Other script (e.g. MiG-21bis training) uses different action looking for space bar (with optional alternate function on backspace).

This function is START WAIT USER RESPONSE (1, 999) meaning pressing space bar changes flag 1 and backspace key changes flag 999
