Headset advice

Hi guys...

I’m currently using my old trusty Turtle Beach X41’s and to be fair they’re still pretty good.....I think! Because they’re 7/8 years old I’m beginning to think I ought to replace them but I’m having an issue on deciding which ones....

I’ve narrowed it down to the Steel Series Arctis 7 wireless but the thing that is putting me off is if the Trackclip Pro for TrackIR will fit! It fits perfectly on the TB ones that I currently have.

 

Any recommendations guys?

I own an old sennheirs HD580 Precision from 2001, it is almost 20 years old and still sound perfectly.....

 

 

 

 

you don need that turtlebitch or whatever is called, you need a proper audiohile headset wich gives best 2.0 sound quality, DCS uses 2.0 output , all the usb stuff are crap compared to a decent hi-hfi headset.

Probably way much of an overkill. For me anyway, but I have mid-range hearing loss. LOL.

 

Also, looks like you're a Firefox user. Had the same problem of multiple lines.

If you’re a non audiophile like me, I’ve got a Logitech G35 that has been great and when fully extended on the left side, the track clip pro fits perfectly on the exposed metal band part. It’s pretty convenient. And they’ve held up way better than the gaming headsets I’ve had in the past, which were plasticky and broke quickly. I’ve had a couple sets of TBs, can’t remember which exactly, but they broke pretty easy and felt flimsy.

 

I haven’t checked to see if the G35 is still available or if it’s got a successor or what else works better, but the only problem I’ve had with mine is that the vinyl covering for the padding around the ears is tearing away a bit. It’s more of an annoyance than anything else but easily ignored because the foam padding is still intact. I think I’ve had them for 8 years now? Not sure but it’s been forever it seems and they just work.

I have been using a Razor Kraken for two years or so ; sound is as good as my ears , mounts a pro-clip well , and the mic works very well for voice recognition . No issues with build quality .

I use a SteelSeries Siberia 800 wireless. Have my TrackIR leds zip tied to the side. Turtlebeach is pretty mediocre quality wise, imo, and despite their 'gamer cred' marketing, I've owned several high end Razer products and they sucked terribly and have ZERO support.

 

For midrange stuff, I suggest a Corsair Void. Sound good, durable, and Corsair has great customer service.

You either pay 15-25€ cheap throw-away or 250-350€ for Sennheiser or Beyer. I tend to get the "used" ones from my son when he buys new ones for strange reasons.

 

Sure, I loved my Beyer DT220 too, back in the days of HiFi but for DCS and a sidewinder growle any headset is plenty...as long as it works and mounts the TiR5 Pro clip

Would go with something that has proven sound quality. I somehow end up with Koss Portapro + Logitech table microphone... good but very cheap...

 

Sennheiser + Beyerdynamics are usually the options but of course they can be much more expensive.

For me these are my goto headphones especially for field recording, closed back very comfortable excellent isolation from local noise great imaging a tad fat in the bass department maybe but if I want HiFi I use the ATH 1000's or AKG K702's. :thumbup:

I got some el cheapo headset on Amazon, Beexcellent Gaming Headset GM-1 with Microphone

for dirt cheap but quite good, I'm impress
