LawnDart Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Or just turn off sig display in your own control panel & quit cryin'.  ...how bout that! Didn't even know that was an option... this makes the 50Kb argument seem even more silly. 1 [sigpic]http://www.virtualthunderbirds.com/Signatures/sig_LD.jpg[/sigpic] Virtual Thunderbirds, LLC | Sponsored by Thrustmaster Corsair 750D Case | Corsair RM850i PSU | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X CODE | 32GB Corsair DDR4 3200 | Intel i7-8086K | Corsair Hydro H100i v2 Cooler | EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW | Oculus Rift | X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty | Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB NVMe | Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB | WD Caviar Black 2 x 1TB | TM HOTAS Warthog | TM Pendular Rudder | TM MFD Cougar Pack | 40" LG 1080p LED | Win10 |
Alfa Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Sig length is not an issue, I don't think. Unless it busts the margins of someone using a low resolution. They just don't want the sigs to take up too much space on the scroll height. It could be 150 x 800 and be within regs as long as it's not over 50Kb. (God, I hope no one is using 640 x 480) The difference between the 19.5Kb and 50Kb sig rules is that ED would be hosting the 19.5Kb limit sigs. That's different from hosting your sig yourself. A mod might confirm or clarify. Correct on both accounts. The 19.5 kb limit is for signature images uploaded to this site, while 50kb is the limit when linking to externally hosted images for use in signatures. JJ
Alfa Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Or just turn off sig display in your own control panel & quit cryin'. ....or just turn off the forum signature function entirely and quit wasting more time on this nonsense. JJ
S77th-GOYA Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 ....or just turn off the forum signature function entirely and quit wasting more time on this nonsense. ...or just close the forums. That would free up some time. But it wouldn't be the best way to handle the situation.
ED Team Groove Posted July 15, 2007 ED Team Posted July 15, 2007 ....or just turn off the forum signature function entirely and quit wasting more time on this nonsense. x 2 - what is the purpose of sig pics btw ? cool_t Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 nice no whining if they fix the f-15 and the 120s. it will take 1 120 insted of 4, just like it was. :smartass:
sp0nge Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 VBulletin Forum space is cheap incase you guys didn't know, but it gets used up pretty quickly... 7 bucks = 15 gigs or something. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AMRAAM's wont find their targets as easely as they do now without proper support. .
STRIKER Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 That might be so, but I got a feeling that you will be more exposed as well. AMRAAM's wont find their targets as easely as they do now without proper support. Ah, the now over 3 year debate about AMRAAM's/F15. I will continue to take the realistic and safe bet that the F15 radar will still suck and the 120's will still have no realistic loft time as well as all the other things wrong with them since ED didnt spend enough time on the American equipment than the Russian equipment, mainly to get the product out the door in 03 amongst a laundry list of other things. Its all about the $$$ in the end. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 ... which, I imagine is something Ubi told'em to do. 'Gimme US aircraft or no publishing' ... copy and paste of Russian systems to make 'US like' systems work ensues ... That's my guess. VMFA-Blaze Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 ED didnt spend enough time on the American equipment than the Russian equipment, mainly to get the product out the door in 03 amongst a laundry list of other things. Its all about the $$$ in the end. I don't think that that's entirely true... It's more likely money was just one of the reasons.. It could also have been that there just wasn't enough detail available for US equipment at the time of release... Will US jets change with the upcoming release? Probably not... There's been an enormous amount of posts that have been over this issue... It seems that Ed will not be changing the FM or avionics for anything that's currently available.. But I'm betting that this will surely change when the next fast mover hits the shelves so to speak ... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR

GGTharos Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Yo-Yo did say that he would look into it ... he'll have to look at the stores drag as well, -and- in addition the flanker's thrust (I'm pretty sure it suffers the same anemia) 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

GGTharos Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 MiG -might- be a touch overpowered but I don't really know ... that little thing seems to have gotten just what it should have. or maybe a little more. It'd be great if someone had some sort of time-to-climb chart equivalent of the Dash 1 for the MiG so it could be tested. hitman Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I like the MiG the way its modelled now. I can hit 1600kph on the deck and thats all I care about. Edit: I hit 1704kph earlier in a zoom run. Kind of hard to maneuver at that speed...just up and down. Turn left you bank right.
GGTharos Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 That's probably more or less the way it should be, give or take a few kph (probably take, but I'm only guessing). I don't think the MiG really needs to be touched. We're talking about high-alt eprformance though, not low-alt :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
EricJ Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Careful, foul language will get you a warning. :smilewink: Nah, it's a recommendation really ;) Ahh yeah, I was really just trying to understand the situation really, so then I went off on that diatribe. Personally banning somebody for sig overuse? we can go into Hitman's case, where if he was warned a few times... yeah I can see the move to banning particularly if he ignored it. But if it was 1 time? yeah that's a little bad, but on the other hand, it's their forum, they handle it as they see fit. Moderating really is a thankless job in some sense, as you gotta be the a-hole in order to maintain some semblance of control. And sometimes, you're feelings have to be hurt, but sometimes, not necessary either. And thanks guys, still like the community even though I've been busy. EvilBivol-1 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 They'll just make a new rule, then we'll all have to change our sigs. Or they won't allow us to have sigs...just text. And if it's because of people with low band.....it's the 2007, pay for cable or dsl.....unless you live in the deep back woods and don't have running water.Really? What about our users in the many places of the world where broadband is either unavailable or out of reach financially? Sure, they can turn the sigs off... ...or we can keep their size optimal and under control (or none at all) so that everyone can enjoy the forums equally. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy.
