Ice_Pick Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Hello, I want to get a module coming from the A10-C that will be much faster and more maneuverable than the hog. I also don't want to drop $80 on one of the new modules (F-18, F-14). The A-10 covers the ground attack so I want something primarily A-A and hopefully navy (Carrier-based) and something newer than WW2. Also if it's possible something easier to Air-Air refuel than that thing:mad:. So what should I get? Thanks DCS A10C / DCS Black Shark /DCS F-14/Persian Gulf map/ Nevada/huey/gazelle/f18/f16/ajs37/harrier/A-4 16gb 2400 RAM / Ryzen 5 3600 / ROG Strix RX 570 /750W thermaltake PSU [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
draconus Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 The only Navy aircraft left is Su-33. Primary: A-A, Secondary: A-G, carrier based, vary fast, can do AAR... and cheap (because of simple avionics model). Ice_Pick Posted March 12, 2019 Author Posted March 12, 2019 Thank you! Is there a high fidelity version or a different high fidelity aircraft that meets most of the things I want? QuiGon Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) Thank you! Is there a high fidelity version or a different high fidelity aircraft that meets most of the things I want? Thanks There is one: The F/A-18 (except the price). All others are non naval aircraft (except the Harrier which neither fits the things you want nor is something I would recommend atm). The Mirage 2000C might be a good non-naval recommendation for you, followed by the F-5 Tiger II and the MiG-21. All three are primarily A-A but can also do some A-G. The F-5 and the MiG-21 are Gen3 jets, while the Mirage 2000C is a Gen4 jet. dawgie79 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Not the answer you want but I would drop the $80 for the F/A-18C. It's that good already and only will be even better.
DocSigma Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Not sure there is a module just yet that fits your needs - AA and naval. The only two high fidelity modules are the F18 and the F14, and you already noted that you don't want to invest that much. Like others have said, the best fast moving, naval, AA platform we have is the F18 and/or the F14. The closest bird I can think of that at least fits the bill as being a fast-moving AA platform is the Mig21 - it's high fidelity and lacks the creature comforts of the way more modern F18, but itis a fast mover and its primary role is an AA to interceptor with A/G capabilities. A2597 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 F-18 or F-14 would get my vote since you want Naval, However Mirage would get my vote if you were OK skipping naval aspects.

Thanks, Buying the mirage when I get home! The mirage is a good module, but I'd really spend a few extra bucks and get the F-18. I look at this way. Why would you buy a Honda when you can get a Ferrari for a few pennies more?
