[CANNOT REPRODUCE] HARM symbol on HMD during A/A gun mission

Hi!

 

Unfortunately I can't reproduce it but during A/A gun mission over Caucasus vs. SU 30 when I turn ON the HMD on the center, slighty below "HARM" indication occuring.

 

I can't get rid of it during whole mission. BTW I had only gun ammo on deck.

 

When I reload the mission to take a print screen everythink was OK, but nevertheless I watned to inform you guys.

I had the same bug in the 2v2 guns only mission. Saved track but couldn't reproduce the bug either

I have also experienced this issue, but could not reproduce as well. Also, the track did not reproduce the issue either. Had a similar issue with ATC (auto throttle) being displayed on the HMD / JHMCS display, even when the ATC was not engaged. Figured it was all just part of the "early access" or whatever it is classified as of this point.

 

Will keep an eye out for it (no pun intended) on future flights and try to just upload the track, even if I can't seem to reproduce it with the track as maybe the devs have some extra mojo in their toolbox.

Had this bug aswell yesterday for the first time with a hotstarted hornet on the ground.

Just watched the track and its not visible in the replay.

Problem is, it's not visible in tracks. The few times it has happened to me, I couldn't pinpoint the reason. Once, it happened right at the beginning of a mission with air start. I saved the track, which was useless. I then went back and repeated the exact same steps I had done and I didn't get the bug the second time. As far as I can tell, it's not reliably reproducible.

A track will still give me an idea of what is going on, and try to recreate in the same scenario.

I do run some mods, but nothing that would prevent you from running the track (mainly cockpit textures, CMS edits etc) and some equipment mods (that you need in order to run the mission). If it occurs in a mission that the equipment mods aren't used, I'll upload the track here.

Got it! I'm attaching the track. Happened today. Clean mission, 1v1 dogfight. Single player, PG map.

 

I'm using a custom skin on my Hornet, but that shouldn't be a problem (should switch to default for you, right?). I'm also running a few other mods that shouldn't interfere at all and shouldn't matter on your end (like cockpit textures and a few lua edits, but nothing related to cockpit displays or anything like that) and in any event, this occurs without any mods as well.

 

I also checked the dcs.log file, but there wasn't anything useful there.

 

PS. Never mind the horrible ACM in the track :joystick:. I stopped caring once I saw the HARM on the JHMCS, but then decided to finish the fight.

Thanks for the tracks, sadly neither showed the issue for me when played back.

 

I am watching out for this during my own sessions also.

Aim9x HARM :)

 

Happens randomly. Perhaps after accidentally pressing HARM tgt. step switch on my throttle and causing some weird "bleed over" from HARM code? On my Warthog I put "Cage/Uncage" one side of the rocker switch and FOV/HARM tgt. step on the other side of the switch. Both momentary.

Or... could have some meaning I'm not aware of?

You should have put this in the BUG section of the Hornet, but I believe that this along with a few other discrepancies regarding the HMD/JHMCS have been reported. Worth putting in there though, in case this one has somehow not made it through to the developers/moderators for further assessment.

It's been reported by multiple users. The problem is that it's not reproducible and occurs randomly and (thankfully) rarely.

I just experienced it today, and included mention of it in the JHMCS bug thread that I started. Will try to get back to the computer tomorrow and post track file. It might be a large one though, as it was in a MP server from the Grim Reapers. Have never experienced it in SP, for whatever that might be worth. Is there a limit on track file size?

JHMCS displays ‘HARM’ in large letters

 

Occasionally when using the JHMCS in Air to Air mode there is a big text of HARM in the middle. Any idea what this means? (And no my plane wasn’t carrying any HARMS)
