I have noticed that AI airplanes with external tanks start with more than 100% fuel. E.g. a hornet with one external tank can have up to about 120% fuel. The problem is that during air-to-air-refueling the AI stops at 100% fuel ignoring their external tank capabilities.

For my testings I have used the Unit:getFuel() function, so I could monitor the total fuel percentage of the AI during a whole mission.

I reported this initially in the F-18C Lot 20 forum when I thought it was an F-18C only issue. I later found out it happened on the M-2000C as well and asked for the post to be moved here but nobody moved it. However, they did mark the posting as [Reported].

I have also discovered it was only the center tank not getting refueled as I later had two bags on wings and noticed those were getting filled up.

Tks for the information, but the situation presented on this thread has nothing to do with the 6,000 pounds limitation in Real Life.

Use the mission that I’ve created and test. Even when refueling less than 6,000 pounds, AI will not refuel Drop Tanks.

Has there ever been any word on this? It's been almost 2 years, and combined with the AI using a boat load of fuel, what's the point of flying any single player missions with a wingman unless you have tankers every 50 miles?
