Yes, i cut the section out and created an insert from sheet metal for the recess. The seat is out of a late model BMW I pulled from a wrecking yard.

Yeah, I'm using a car seat myself. However I wouldn't dare to cut it open that way. I'm using a goose neck instead - though the cavity would be better....

This is Mk 3.something.  For those intimidated by these home pits don't be; I started out with an Apple ][ Joystick.

My first "high end" HOTAS was a CH stick and throttle on a desk; the first mod was to wrap leather around the stick to get rid of the plastic feel.  I first decided I wanted a 'cockpit' in August of 2002 when I saw my first flight sim cockpit; that was the convention where Robert Shaw autographed my copy of 'Fighter Combat'.  My first "simpit" were some button boxes powered by Teensy (Arduino compatible) controllers in mid 2018; those sat under my monitor stands.

Six years and a lot of time and money later...I need to wrap that stick with leather.

I’m gonna have to stop looking in here. I see bits in here and start wanting everything, including some of the rooms you have em in 😄.

Some cracking looking setups though. I’ve a utility room I could use but the missus seems determined to fill it wall to wall with crap nobody needs. Depending on whose definition of the word ‘needs’ we go by 🥸. 30+ years of this madness.

I use a desk mounted Warthog with Monstertech mounts which is fine as long as I don’t come to threads like this and start getting ideas. I’ve been looking at those Warbird bases as well as the throttles some of you have and I’m getting itchy. Those button boxes above with the white panels look great too but then I’m off getting ideas again and I’ve gotta behave myself. We don’t wanna get too carried away, or do we? :lookaround:

I can hear her already “He’s in there building his ‘cockpit’, for months on end then “He’s in there flying his planes”.

and I can hear me too “I’m in here calling the divorce lawyer” 😁

Started off with a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas stick from eBay in March and realised within a month that I was all in. I upgraded to the Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle and Stick – great stick, but too much stiction, so that was returned and I'm currently on the Winwing Orion 2 HOTAS, with Thrustmaster rudders. I may have to upgrade the rudders as they're entry level and not very smooth. Got a feeling this hobby is going to end up costing me a lot! 😅

This is mine, for now. 4 monitors.

Everything was cheap, but gives me a lot of fun..

Doesn‘t look bad at all. I would consider swapping the mouse and the Stick. Embrace the sidestick!

Well here is mine once more with a few modifications.

Added the Moza FFB and moved the two Mini monitors closer in and added a small table for the Throttle.

So  quick.jpg?ex=67dbd5e4&is=67da8464&hm=40bthis is still a work desk/Sim Pit . So I can slide everything away and unclamp the Moza which gives me space to work.
