Gianky Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hi there. After last OB update, AI Tomcats spawn on the carrier in SP missions with their wings at minimum sweep. That makes impossible to play, when you're lucky and planes don't collide, you can't move from your parking position without a collision. I found this behavious in Cage the Bear mission 1 and in the stand alone MiG-28 furball mission.
Gianky Posted June 20, 2019 Author Posted June 20, 2019 So, am I the only one to experience this? Or is there a workaround I haven't found? Help? :helpsmilie:
Blinde Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 No you're not. Happens here also on every mission when starting hot on park.
Gianky Posted June 21, 2019 Author Posted June 21, 2019 Thanks, Blinde, good to know! Well, I guess we'll have to wait for a sign from the powers that be....
Gaff Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Hi! Got the same problem. One workaround I found is to order my wingman to RTB via the comms menu. He will then start moving on the carrier deck, which enables me to sneak past him and connect with the catapult to launch and fly the mission. Another bug that I found is when my wingman launches after me, he will get stuck in mid air with full afterburners just at the bow of the ship for the rest of the mission.

He will then start moving on the carrier deck, which enables me to sneak past him and connect with the catapult to launch and fly the mission. Thanks, Gaff, I'll try that. Unfortunately, it won't fix cold start missions in Cage The Bear, where there's a wing collision immediately at mission start (the airplanes are parked too close to each other). Another bug that I found is when my wingman launches after me, he will get stuck in mid air with full afterburners just at the bow of the ship for the rest of the mission. I haven't notice that, but wingmen do tend to get stuck on the catapult, even without ever launching... I think, though, that happened with the Hornet, too, so maybe it's a DCS bug.
overalien Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 has this been reported and acknowledged as a bug by @Heatblur? Hi Cobra, any news when you will fix this issue in future? It is almost impossible to make good mission with cold start on the carrier at the time. Additionally ai wingmans will stay to hang in front of the carrier after they try to take off, so you are alone if you start in dark and cold cat. Please give us some feedback about this issue and its cleaning progress. I went back to the F18 so I'm still getting my DCS weekly dose, anyway I am really missing my F14...
IronMike Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hi guys, this issue should be fixed in this patch. It works for me, but some reported they still get AI spawning with wings out. Could some of you verify that it works for you please? Thank you. Gianky Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Hi Mike! I quickly tried both the missions I referred to in my OP, everything seems to be fine. As soon as I can I'll try some more. Thank you for the fix! P.S. Just to be thorough, in "Cage the bear" mission 1, my F-14 spawned with spread wings, but as soon as I pressed the "fly" green button in the lower right corner of the briefing window, the wings went back to oversweep position, without any collision with the AI aircraft.

Hi Ginky, thank you for your feedback. And that is correct, before hitting the fly button, things are in part not configured or "started" yet, it is a bit odd but should not impact anything after hitting fly.
