I am suffering with a problem. A quick mission i just made has some red air but if one of the red air gets killed my parked aircraft will sink through the floor? And no matter what slot i choose after i just immediately sinks through the floor?

Same problems with members of my team in MP mode, once trough the ground the only solution is to exit and reconnect to the server, this append when spawning or landing aircrafts (bug observed with F14 / M2000C / Mig29)

Is this in any way limited to the F/A-18C ?

In my wing they're the only once experiencing this issue (so far)

It's a behavior reported in other threads but hasn't been picked up by ED as a confirmed bug yet. You're in the same boat as the rest of the ppl experiencing the same issue. Respawn and try again until ED confirms it as a bug and fixes it.

The more info you can give the faster ED can determine where/how/when and almost no bugs are accepted without track files or video showing the issue so make sure to attach one of those :)

If you have any mods installed, be sure to disable/remove them before creating track/video.

Been working on it most of the day and taking mods off one at a time and it still does it until i took the A4E mod out. And seemed to work but need to do more testing as at work now so cant do anything until tomorrow.

No its in the AV8 at kobuleti. And once it does it it effects all the slots and eventually crashes DCS. Looks like it maybe a A4 Mod problem as i have taken all other mods out one at a time but only when i took the A4 out it seemed to be ok. I need more time to play with it tomorrow but its looking like the problem..

I was just playing at NTTR mission with some guys.

I was able to takeoff and fly a mission. Upon RTB for rearm, I tried to land and fell thru the ground. This was in a Hornet. I chose other roles: F-14, AV-8B, and A-10C, all with the same result, and then the game crashed.

I reconnected to the server and lasted about 30 seconds into the initial rearm at parking, and then fell thru the ground again. Hornet again that time.

Same here regarding the carrier- I can spawn on a carrier just fine, but the ground is a no-go.

Seems I can spawn into the cockpit on the initial server join, but then it's constant falling.

I know it's OB so I'm trying not to get too worked up, but ugh, this absolutely sucks.

Do you have the A-4 module installed? Looks like its the common factor.

Actually, I do somewhere. Not activated, but I do have it. Thanks for the tip! Off to delete it...never fly the thing anyway, lol.

Solved? So here's an update:

I deleted all of the A-4 stuff I could find* on both sides of the game. No joy.

One of the guys in our group had the same problems; he fixed it by renaming his Saved Games folder and restarting the game, which let DCS build a new Saved Games folder to run on.

I did that and was able to spawn in multiple land-based jets (Hornet, Hog, Cat, Harrier), taxi, takeoff, and land without any problems! So something got wonky in my Saved Games folder two updates ago.

Anyway, I copied my HOTAS profiles from the old Saved Games and pasted them in the new one. Good to go! Need to add the liveries back. Maybe step-by-step I'll narrow it down.

*When copying my HOTAS inputs, I noticed an A-4 folder was still in there. This was after the new directory built, so I don't know if deleting this would have worked. Amazing how bits of mods get placed in so many areas! I am a computer dummy though, lol.

Interesting, yet another poster right after you reported that removing the A-4 module fixed his issue.

BTW, there has been a new released version of the A-4...maybe using that fixes it? :music_whistling:

Glancing through the logs attached. It looks like it is a failure of the EFM suspension logic. This looks like the EFM suspension of the AV8B. This is due to an out of range input from the EFM code of the AV8B.

2019-06-13 11:01:03.636 INFO DCS: invalid input at index 0 in suspension

2019-06-13 11:01:03.636 INFO DCS: invalid input at index 3 in suspension

I'm unable to recreate this bug at this point. But if someone who is familiar with the point in the mission where this happens can help with some tests and tracks then I can check if there is something that can be done from the A-4E's end of things. But my current working theory is a failure between the math logic when both EFM and SFM are loaded in the same sim. There already is a major physics bug in the SFM transition logic in the sim that has yet to be fixed so I won't be surprised.

Here is the help that I need:

1. A track with the sinking bug happening.

2. A test if the sinking bug can occur with the MB339 installed instead of the A-4E. This test will allow testing if SFM is the cause of the issue. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169358

It honestly wouldn't surprise me that it's really the A-4 and that I just missed all the files when I was removing them. I'm not the most computer savvy, lol! :D

Sinking through floor, CTD in RW

Same problems with members of my team in MP mode, once trough the ground the only solution is to exit and reconnect to the server, this append when spawning or landing aircrafts (bug observed with F14 / M2000C / Mig29)

Same problem with F-14/18 in MP sinking through the runway aproximately every other landing.

In Mi-8 it results in CTD without any warning and log.

I am pretty sure that the presence of an A-4, has no significance in this bug. I have had it happen on occasions with F-18 and A-10, and always with P-51, and none of these missions have the A-4 included. I have not been able to identify any common cause, but it is a pita.

With the F-18 and A-10 it seems to happen after a longish sortie. Hence I have not been able to get a track for these, but I did submit tracks with the P-51 and T-51, where it always happens. I do have a TrackView of it happening to the F-18, in which I apply the power and reappear out of the runway on the overshoot!

I just had this happen with the AJS-37 Viggen in the Interdiction mission in Single Player. The mission loads, I am in the cockpit, mission is paused with the briefing screen as usual. The moment I hit Fly, the aircraft sinks through the tarmac. I double-checked the mission editor and it is set to take off from ramp (not hot). I have successfully taken off with the F/A-18C from both ramp and aircraft carrier without a problem. I am running the latest OpenBeta. The only mod that I have installed is the A-4, but I have not flown it in a long time and I have not updated it since it was released, I cannot imagine that it is the cause (but if it is, it needs to be yanked from circulation).

Can we confirm that this is not just another prank by the ED programmers again? I hate to have to ask, but they've pulled this sort of thing before.

I tried another mission with the Viggen, this time set to take off from the runway. The same thing happened, except this time when I sank through the tarmac, I got a Mission Script Error:

[string "handler = []..."]:8: attempt to index global 'mist' (a nil value)

stack traceback:

[C]: ?

[string "handler = {}..."]:8: in function 'onEvent'

[string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:13: in function <[string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:11>

I do not know if the script error is related, as I did not get it the first time that I experienced this. I could try to do a repair of the installation, but I am on holiday in the mountains where there are more deer than people, and my internet connection is not very fast. Additionally, after the April 1st debacle, I learned that you should never spend hours trying to fix DCS without first confirming with ED that it is not a prank. This is, ah, not how most professional software developers work, but they've been clear and unapologetic about it.

I can confirm almost 100% that the issue is with modded aircrafts.

People here report the A4 mod but in my virtual wing we had it happening because of the AC130 mod. F18s were sinking whereas A10s were crashing as soon as wheels touched the ground on landing.

Since we disabled the AC130 mod we haven't experienced any issue.

I have the A-4 mod installed and I do not experience these problems with other aircraft.....are people who experience the bug placing their modded aircraft into their root DCS directory instead of Saved Games where it should be?
