kontiuka Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Spotting mainly.If you wanted, you could split some of the responsibilities. Rear seater could act as a navigator and radio man as well as spotter.

We occasionally would switch control to give the front pilot a break. Good fun, but a little bit limited. What would help a lot would be a 3D-model NS430 GPS in the back seat. (Either that or ED fixes the overlay version!) That'd let the co-pilot plot and plan waypoints, etc. and thus add to the complexity of the navigation controls.

Sounds like it’s not at all the same fun as a pilot RIO combination.
Los Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) In some of our cas / csar/ general combat operations (inc) ground combat, we have two guys in one ac. The back-seater handle overall mission coordination. But for sure it’s excellent for training new pilots (as is the yak 52). Edited November 27, 2019 by Los
Jester986 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 While there isn't a huge need for two pilots in this aircraft it is a lot of fun to fly by yourself or with a friend. It's kinda on the two of you to divide up the duties. I definitely give it a solid recommendation though.
