pagadi-zaiet Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Any news on what`s happening now regarding the promised optimisations for VR customers? ...How is the testing going...When can we expect a patch with specific fixes to improve frames and general performance in VR?
fishmilkshake Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 *bump* I also would like to know, been waiting since April announcement. i9-9900k @4.80Ghz 32Gb Ram / 2tb SSD / RTX 2080ti Samsung 49" QLED Pimax 5k+ / CV1 / TrackIR5 Thrustmaster Hotas/Throttle
DthFrmAbv Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 well, silence probably means "not anytime soon". I admit that waiting for that patch is annoying (it was announced, so nothing wrong with being disappointed) but asking when-will-we-get-it is pointless, too. Harlikwin Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Its in game now. And for 10-20% of folks you see some improvment 1-5% of ppl see big improvments. They have no idea why it doesnt work for everyone and are working on fixing it. You can help by running tests and reporting in the vr thread stickied in dcs world main area. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. DayGlow Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 The devs have already said they won't support proprietary rendering options. "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
remi Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 The devs have already said they won't support proprietary rendering options. That's too bad, since most people run Nvidia cards anyway, it really screws over a large portion of the users. I'd rather have awesome performance on one platform instead of crappy performance on all platforms. Honestly though, the reason for it is most likely lack of resources to devote to the implementation. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Hippo Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Team is working on more optimisations but nothing to share at the moment. The update I was hoping for was related to the recently-released optimisation, which was supposedly going to bring a 50% fps increase, for which ED's customers have been providing benchmarks, and the findings relating to such. Still, good to hear that new optimisations are now being looked into - thank you.
